"We expect our Sixth form students to be excellent role models for the rest of our students and the vast majority of our school community supports us in that."

Yes, because hair color definitely has earth shattering effects in society. Be a role model and **** the system right up in the ass.

You mean ask her, right?

I'm not sure what state laws this site uses so I'm not going to answer that. But it involves an act that is completely legal in almost EVERY states/country for her age.

Basically see if the ______ matches the ________.

School policy is it has to be a normal color....not like blue or green. Red is actually a normal color.

It is, but her hair is clearly dyed.

And? As long as the color is natural...it's okay. Schools don't want unnatural colors. Honestly it's surprising to me this is even an issue.

"Our policy on hair, which is made clear on the website and to all students and parents, refers to hair when dyed in unnatural colours. In this case, two tone hair with yellow dipped dyed ends crosses that line. The policy is to ask students to tone it down or to tie it up so that unnatural colour is not visible, as was agreed in this case."

Looking at the picture of her obviously un-natural looking dyed hair, it's not surprising at all. Even so, it appears the School and the girl were able to come to a reasonable compromise and she is currently attending classes. All is well in the world again :)

It's not her natural hair colour, you can see brown re-growth in that YouTube video.

I'd stab sumone, but I'd always stab sumone. If I were banned from school for my natural hair color I might even stab two people, if for dying it the same color my hair is naturally, I'd stab 1.25 people.

If it is against school policy (don't know) then that is that.

This. And her hair color is clearly not naturally red from the pics posted above.

School policy is it has to be a normal color....not like blue or green. Red is actually a normal color.

Her hair doesn't even look like a "normal" red.....which is what people are saying.

That school is run by too many shameful morons.

Meh, most likely certainly not a very good and worthy school to go to anyway, I'm sure there are better more worthy schools to go to and attend, that doesn't have staff freak out over nonsensical petty things.

Why would her parents send her to such a fascist school? I hope it was worth it.

I read about it a few days ago.. Or was it a week???

The articles stated she had dyed her hair a little. Made it brighter, though from what I remember, it did not state if she had made it even brighter over Easter break, however as OP states, it was even brighter before, and that was apparently OK.

Let's keep the jokes friendly, shall we?

No. I bet the school administration thought she would take souls of all the other students as she was getting close to graduate. :P

Why do i get the feeling that its not the whole story about her hair colour.

Trinity School Statement – 16th April 2015

Following recent speculation and inaccurate reporting in the media about hair colour we would like to clarify Trinity School’s position. Firstly, it is important to state that no student has been banned from school this week. The student in question has been in lessons all week and accompanied the rest of the year group on our Futures Ready trip to Northumbria University yesterday.

We have a high achieving Sixth form; last year’s results were in the top 12% nationally. We achieve this because of our policy of maintaining high standards in all that we do. Our policy on hair, which is made clear on the website and to all students and parents, refers to hair when dyed in unnatural colours. In this case, two tone hair with yellow dipped dyed ends crosses that line. The policy is to ask students to tone it down or to tie it up so that unnatural colour is not visible, as was agreed in this case.

We expect our Sixth form students to be excellent role models for the rest of our students and the vast majority of our school community supports us in that.

But the life of a privileged girl from the upper class in England sure is fun to read about and her going to a posh religious private school.

@horgen:

I am not sure where all these jokes about people with red hair came from, but I have yet to laugh at a single one.

Blondes are next

NOT since the middle ages has there been such a witch hunt for a redhead.

A 17-year-old, who was about to sit her senior exams, has been banned from school because her hair is too ginger.

Emily Reay has naturally auburn hair, and toldThe Mirror she has had the same colour for three years.

But after returning from the Easter school holiday break, teachers at Trinity School in Carlisle, UK, banned her from attending classes again until she had a “more appropriate” hair colour.

“I’ve had the same colour for the past three years, and nobody at school has commented on it,” she told The Mirror.

“Everyone knows me as that ‘young ginger singer’.

“If I had to dye my hair brown, I would lose that.”

The budding musician toldtelegraph.co.uk the school ban made her cry.

“I was very angry at first, and then burst into tears,” she said.

Emily offered to pin her hair up if teachers were concerned about the colour, but the offer was rejected.

Emily said her colour had been a “bone of contention” since the start of the school year, but teachers had let her get away with it.

“The laughable thing is my hair was brighter than this on prom night, and I won best hairstyle award.”

Her mother Julie, was equally furious about the ban telling telegraph.co.uk: “The school’s uniform policy clearly states no unnatural hair colours, like blue or green”.

“Is ginger not a natural hair colour?”

That don't look like natural hair color to me. And her eyebrows look darker.

"The age of consent for sexual activity in the UK is 16. In England and Wales, the age of sexual consent for women has been set at 16 since 1885." She's 17 and lives in UK.

Stop thinking every country is super up-tight about sex like USA hehe.
