Some guys can even be single forever and survive on video games and sports as their ways to waste time. But girls HAVE to be in a relationship or else they'll explode since most of them aren't interested in video games and whatnot. Two400
Actually, the opposite is true. According to several studies, AND every Census Report done on the subject (See Census.gov for more info) Men are more likely to commit suicide when they are single. Men are also more likely to experience depression and mental breakdowns if they are single.
This, however, does not apply to women. So it would seem, women can go without men, but men can not go without women. Doesnt make us inferior, if anything it shows we have a hidden sensitive side that longs to be loved and accepted in a way only a close relationship can provide...
That, or our genes come with a couple extra loose screws...take your pick...
I think it depends. I've been with my girlfriend for eight months come April 19th, and honestly before that it was really hard to get over my ex-girlfriend. I was pretty lonely at the time, and couldn't stand being alone just because it was just weird not having a companion in life you know.
I guess it depends on the person, not by gender. I will however say, sometimes its better being single-- because you don't have obligations, less responsibility, and you know being in a relationship.. you really have to put effort into it to make it work.
Somedays I wish I was alone because it's just too much work sometimes-- but then again I think about how much I love that person, and just causing them pain is something I could not live with, because you really do get attached to them. But I am very happy in my relationship, it's just too tedious at times but you get over it.

That's definitely true. I can't tell you how lonely or depressed I was being single, mostly due to the fact I wasn't over my ex-girlfriend. Plus living on your own and being a male-- it's really tough stuff. I lived by myself for almost two years and I still wasn't over one of my ex-girlfriends. It was a very lonely and dark time for me-- I know guys try to potray themselves as these 'macho men', but really guys are pretty senstive. I know I am anyways, even though I don't act like it in front of people, guys are afraid of there social perceptions, but deep inside there really big huggable teddy bears :)

Indeed. I am 19 and have yet to have a Girlfriend. I notice i have period's of sadness and at one point a year ago, depression, when thinking about the matter. Obviously, i can say it here, internet and all, but in RL i try my best to hide the fact that my lack of girlfriend has affected me severely over the last couple of years.

I hear you man... it is pretty hard not having a girlfriend. In fact I wish when I was in high school, I wasn't so afraid around woman because after my girlfriend I broke up with after my freshman year I didn't have a girlfriend until my junior year. But believe me-- I am thankful that I got a really great girlfriend, because a lot of them aren't worth your time. They are too high maintenance, and get on your nerves at times.
But maybe it's a good thing-- I know your 19 and all, but really sometimes dating at such a young age can have severe effects on you mentally, I mean I remember breaking up with one of my girlfriends my Freshman year(I am 22 now so that was eight years ago), I cannot tell you how deeply saddened I was, I could not stop pouting nor accept the fact that it was over. Sometimes it's good to date at an older age, because girls are a lot more mature they want to settle down and get there life kicking in the right direction.
So don't rush it, maybe it's good your that way for awhile, because age definitely does help. A lot of girls who are young want to just run around like dogs without no leashes. So kick back and relax-- but when your out of high school, I know most people will say it'll be harder to find a girlfriend, but hey when you do find one you'll find a female a lot more mature looking to settle down! So take it easy man, and keep your head up. Do the things you need to get done now(like go to college and get a degree, or start living on your own and get established), and things will end up a lot better than you think it should.
You cant be seious can you? women want what men have as badly as men want what women have, at any age. women will just try to hide it.air0123
Most psyhological studies show the need for a relationship involves much more than sex. Most have a need for companionship, love, and care, the kind of which can only be supplied by a close relationship.
The Census Reports show that men do not handle being alone as good as women can. Men are up to 50% more likely to commit suicide when they are single, and much more likely to experience depression or stress or have a breakdown when they are single. Women, however, do not share these statistics.
An unusual twist from what the stereotype indicates, but there you go.

An explanation for that maybe is women are more likely to be in a relationship. So possibly more men die from singleness because there are more men single than women, giving an unfair comparison.

The world's population actually consists of more women than men, and it's about evenly split in the US. So if anything, this makes my statistics even more important. Because there are more women there are most likely more single women than men, if by a small percentage. So the statistics stand.
