Girls strip 11 y/o boy naked and upload video to youtube; no charges pressed

An online video shows a prank some would say went too far.

Three young girls from Dunbar Middle school videotaped themselves tackling an 11 year old boy and taking off his clothes. The group can be heard laughing at times and mocking the boy as he struggled to break free.

"He stopped to chat with his friend and they thought it would be funny," said the boy's mother.

The child who we are not identifying is a 5Th grader at Ray Pottorf Elementary. His mom says she only found out about the video when her older son, who goes to school with the girls, said his friends had seen the video online.

"You take his clothes off in broad daylight, in the middle of a busy neighborhood and then you post it on YouTube to tell all your friends look at what I did. Crime or not, it shouldn't happen," she added.

Fort Myers Police says the girl would have faced misdemeanor battery charges, but that the boy's mother has refused to press charges. She wants the girls' parents to hand out a punishment instead.

The video has since been removed by YouTube.

This really makes me angry. Had this been a group of boys stripping an 11 year old girl naked they would have all been charged with a felony sex offense and hit with the full fury of the law. The police wouldn't have let the parent decide whether or not to press charges, they would have just filed them anyway. But because it's a group of girls victimizing a boy it's just an innocent prank "gone too far".

oh no..this is when the state should step in..I'm as anti govt as they come....but .the child's best interest is not being represented...this boy will have to go through the rest of his life dealing with this the girls committed a crime....the crime is outside the realm of the mother's control.....where is the line drawn?...do we get to pass on rape and murder charges?...Omni-Slash

]Sadly lots of sexual assaults like this case are never reported or the victim refuses to press charges it is up to the victim to or their guardians in this case to decide if they want to press charges or not. Murder more less has to always be investigated by the police if they find a dead body, since the victim can no longer speak for himself. EasyStreet

It would make me one step closer to having a nervous breakdown, that's for sure. I can't imagine being the boy that "got his clothes taken off by a bunch of girls".

How does the whole event being a "prank" justify the situation? Would you say the same thing if you were in the boy's situation? You would not even be slightly embarrassed if a bunch of girls came up to you and took your clothes off outside in broad daylight? You would be okay with them filming it and putting it on YouTube where the whole world now can see what happened?

Do you think it was funny and amusing to that kid? That kid is probably sitting in his room debating on whether he should hang himself in his closet or not.

The girls deserve to be punished just like any guy would be if they took a girl's clothes off. Again, double-standards. Gotta love them.
