I think it's fucking disgusting.
People who smoke make me sick.

i stopped talking to a really hot girl because she smoked. also my current gf quit smoking to stay with me so yeah, i kinda hate it.
This really grinds my gears - if you wanted to date a non-smoker then that's what you should have done - not coerced a smoker into quitting. My ex knew I smoked months before we started dating then a few weeks in started putting loads of pressure on for me to quit. I kept telling him if he couldn't date a smoker then he shouldn't have gone out with me in the first place. I put up with him whining about it for a year and a half, he didn't let up about it at all.
No. Not at all. What's so hot about an activity that can cause lung and/ or mouth cancer, as well as bad breath? An attraction to such a thing is strange.
I"ve tried to accept it, in the past had some girl friends who were smokers. Honestly i couldn't take it, no matter how attractive they were. The smell just throws me off, even looks just won't do it for me. If they look great, but smoke, i'm not dating them. That smell is just way too disturbing. If you smoke, then dang, that will work i'm sure.

well i didn't force her to do anything. i was actually ok with it since she rarely did it, i just got her to stop completely. her family wanted her to stop and she was going in that direction anyway before she met me. i cut a bad habitat out of her life and she looks a lot healthier now, i don't see how there is anything wrong with that.
plus cigarettes don't affect their personality.
You've clearly never met a smoker.
no, I'm actually disappointed when I find out a girl I'm attracted to is a smoker - despite me occasionally smoking myself
besides myself, I know plenty of smokers, and have never seen a cigarette affect someone's personality, unless you're referring to addiction.
I look at women smoking the way women look at facial scars on a man. Attractive for a potential one-night stand, but not someone you'd want a long-term relationship with.
The look is sexy, but the smoke and smell, not really.
So for a few pictures, sure, but I rather prefer girls that don't smell like they just laid 5 miles of interstate highway.
No I don't. Besides not only is smoking bad for you, but after years and years it can make your mouth more wrinkly, and I've read that women who smoke are more likely to have saggy boobies (because the smoking wears down the elastin I think).
And cigarettes are ugly and get left all over the place. The only smoking that has a cool look to it is a pipe.
It doesn't matter what they are smoking, the terrible smell is a major turn-off.
what if its an e-cig which has no smell??
Yeah, it's an instant dealbreaker. Nonsmokers generally do not want to put up with that stink.

I've been around people who use e-cigs. They still reek of tobacco.
I don't mind it at all. Loved the trashy look anyway and I sometimes look for flaws in a girl, as a flawless girl won't rub well with how flawed a person I am.
Smoking is one of the things that will completely and utterly destroy my attraction to someone. I inform everyone I date that we could be married for twenty years and it will be OVER if they ever start up smoking.
his is a pretty douchey way to think. Sure it shows your someone who sticks to their guns and feels passionately which I totally respect...but it also shows your blatant disregard for twenty years of marriage.
I think if I were were given an ultimatum by someone I was dating I would likely not be dating that person for much longer.

Rude people make me sick.

No more than their starting up smoking would.

You are hypothetically casting them aside for smoking. Them taking up smoking isnt casting you aside nor is it necessarily harming your health or personal well-being. It just seems a slightly trivial thing to compromise an entire marriage...particularly one of 20 years. If I were marrying the woman in that scenario I would be less worried about them being a smoker and more worried about them not having a backbone. I certainly couldnt agree 20 years in advance that I would be divorced should I do something my husband doesnt like. Thats some 1950's shizz right there.

It's not just something "I don't like." It's disgusting, harmful to themselves and everyone around them, and a colossal waste of money. It's an instant turn-off and a relationship deal-breaker; if I'm not even going to consider a smoker for a first date, why would I want to be married to one?
Thankfully, I let my boyfriends know well in advance what they shouldn't do to immediately lose me, so I doubt I'll ever have to worry about this happening.

Lucky them... :/
Here is how it works for me.. Generally- smoking is a turn off. However, if you're already cool, smoking does make you look cooler. However, If you're a loser, you just look like a trashy addict. Smoking won't help you look cool.
Also, smoking is bad for health, and I am not condoning its use. However, it is a nice social tool in college.
if the girl is attractive then it shouldn't matter if she smokes or not
then again people without any vices tend to be criminally boring
