He was thrown in jail unlawfully for a civil suit. He is now in a different jail for tax evasion. Read :)

LJS9502_basic

He was not thrown in jail for a civil lawsuit. Read.:)

Two underage girls illegitimately sued him for one of his cameramen videoing them in the shower. He was put in jail after the accusation were made, unlawfully, in some state down here (i forget which one). It was then discovered the girls lied, and he was innocent, but he was taken to another jail for tax evasion before he could be released. Um...read? :?. I don't know.

The initial charge was contempt of court.....

How could he be in court to get slapped with a contempt charge if the civil suit hadn't been filed yet? I'm pretty sure you're wrong. But either way, we're being a little too civil with eachother...this is not like us, how can it be fixed?

Ah yes...Tool is the most skilled band in the world, and you're musically illiterate if you don't like them. :)

Nah...he wasn't thrown in for a civil charge...if the girls said they were underage...that would be criminal as well. Obviously, they were...now whether or not the case could have been made is entirely different. But that doesn't mean he was arrested because of a civil lawsuit. That doesn't happen...

However, the contempt of court charges stemmed from the fact that he didn't settle in a civil lawsuit. Now, I may be wrong about this since I'm not an expert on law, but I'm pretty sure that that's a violation of his right to due process.

LJS9502_basic

Doesn't matter what the case was....a contempt of court charge IS criminal.

Contempt of court may be a criminal charge, but that still doesn't change the fact that you can't charge someone with contempt simply because they don't waive their right to due process. If someone sues you, then you have the right to have your day in court and present your case. Even IF the charges were legitimate, which they weren't, there is absolutely NO excuse for the kind of treatment he received in jail.

Being charged with a crime is not the same as due process dude. They have so much time before you see a judge after you are arrested. You can be arrested...you can be in jail....you can be denied bail.:|

I was reading several reports of this, and they all said he was in jail originally for a civil lawsuit, once again illegitimately which can happen if they really want it to (and apparently they did). Maybe not though...I'm not exactly concerned about him either way.

And don't you listen to Mozart and Beethoven?

Joe Francis show's how the current generation of younger citizens really is, and he makes money off of the collective idiocy. More power to him.

YeahYes

I just had to respond to this.

If you think that the people shown on Girls Gone Wild are representative of my generation, you are a true idiot.

All he does is exploit the dumb portion of my generation. They are not at all like any of the people I know....

I must say then, I'm surprised you don't like Tool. They use a lot of the techniques those guys used to write their best symphonies...philosophical mathematics (like sacred geometry), the golden ratio (fibonacci variations)...they also use zillions of different polyrhythmic techniques, as well as chord progression, note placement, and harmony techniques used by those guys. You really should let me send you some music, because you're missing out on brilliance ;)

hes not taking advantage of anyone. wwhen you assume that you are stating that all the women in his films are too stupid to know better. somehow they are college students who should know better and by not expecting them to know better you are enabling and perpetuating a sexist mentality that precipitates throughout the united states.

drunk consent is still consent, drunk girls who sleep with people and then call it rape the next day still consented.

just because it technacaly is,doesnt make it right.damn right he deserves all of this.and i doubt they are stupid if they got into college.

then if they got into college, and they consented it is right.

whats your problem with it? FYI they are not forced to flash the cameras.

[QUOTE="cornlockes"]

Do you people think your cool for saying things like "he had it coming"? That's so dumb. A lot of them give consent with being drunk and if they are drunk then whatever happens is their own damn fault

guitboxdude25

it would be your fault if you were at a bar and someone slipped a pill into your diet pepsi, but that still doesnt make it right.

but thats not what happened. you just make up situations to help your argument when the situations you create are really just irrelevant and similair to the tactics jack thompson employs in order to get his points accross.

/youself.

ughhh.i hate posters like you, incapable of having a conversation, jumping into arrogance.proclaiming that theyve won some kind of argument when there is no competition

yah,i love it how you talk about "irrevelant situations" then you compare me to jack thompson

"then if they got into college, and they consented it is right."
your not seeing the point,if(and i know, this is another "hypothetical situation")you invited a girl, who you know is a tramp when she is drunk to a party, but tell her "its full of good people" and "you dont have to do anything you dont want to do".or even tell her that theres not even going to be any booze.she gets there, and you pump her full of capn morgan.do you se whats wrong with that?i know, thats not what happend.but dont tell me you cant se the similarities

because you spelled "random" wrong, thats why.

well, because both sides are getting equal ends, its like you waking up beside a pig,but she wakes up besides an elephant.whereas if you arent drunk, and take advantage of a drunk chick(see ggw)who getting screwed over?its still not completely "right" to get drunk and do it with a drunk chick, but atleast your both under the influence.

Filming drunk girls is not an exuse for putting him through a corrupt jail system. He doesn't do anything to them, he just captures the moments that occur at clubs and parties every day. Anyone who has ever been to such an event would find the situational flashes and dancing for beads to be common place.

Also, Girls Gone Wild is bad anyway.

buying a soda at a gas station is a contract, when you use your credit card, thus contracts are legally binding under the influence.

and most preists WONT marry someone under the influence, but if they got the document signed then its legally binding UNLESS the drugs were administered for the PURPOSE of COERCION

Huh, I don't care what they put him in there for, but the fact that they were doing that to him in the prison is just ****ing disgusting. Obviously those people have absolutely no values, if they can do that.
I would expect that type of treatment from a country that has a bad reputation, not the US...oh wait...

oh gimme a break, at least we dont stone women who expose their skin or have the art of torturing down to a science (syria, iran, several african countries) nor do we let our poor and hungry starve due to corruption (The entire african continent) we also dont test nerve gases on our citizens (Iraq-pre war) nor does america stay an isolationist (swiss) or a toothless orginization (UN)

so dont bash america unless you really think your country is doing something to help people. America gives the most money to the most causes in the world. We are the only ones fighting the drug war in Columbia (yes it needs to be fought) we are the main ones supplying Africa with money for Aids. NOONE is providing any help for Darfur. And unless your country sends trroops there. Then you need to STFU.

[QUOTE="Jocubus"]I love the irony of this story. He cries like a little girl because he has to walk around naked while he makes his living taking advantage of drunk college girls- filming them exposing themselves. He deserves all of this.B0Knows

hes not taking advantage of anyone. wwhen you assume that you are stating that all the women in his films are too stupid to know better. somehow they are college students who should know better and by not expecting them to know better you are enabling and perpetuating a sexist mentality that precipitates throughout the united states.

drunk consent is still consent, drunk girls who sleep with people and then call it rape the next day still consented.

no hes definatly taking advantage of them, drunk consent is not still consent, thats just idiotic.

Filming drunk girls is not an exuse for putting him through a corrupt jail system. He doesn't do anything to them, he just captures the moments that occur at clubs and parties every day. Anyone who has ever been to such an event would find the situational flashes and dancing for beads to be common place.

Also, Girls Gone Wild is bad anyway.

peeviness

you've obviously never seen girls gone wild if u think its just chicks flashing for beads....

no its consent. your argument fails because consent is consent.

Im drunk and I go into a gas station and use a credit card and i purchase a soda and promise to fulfil my contract with the CC company (which is why you sign)

i am giving them consent to charge me for something while i am drunk and promise to pay for it . thats a contract i still have to fulfil.

if you dont think drunk consent 'counts' then your prolly 12, have never drunk, or are one of those straight edge kids who doesnt really know how bad drinking is (or isnt)

id be willing to be that one of the cops/influential citizen's/ mayor's daughters ended up on a tape of his.

B0Knows

actually men who prey on women routinely get the crap kicked out of them in prison and killed as well. Although he neither raped women (but the again who knows) nor touched little kids, I can see why they would go after him. I suppose preying on women is considered a sign of weakness in prison and thats why child molesters get attacked, but then maybe its just because felons in prison detest them just as much as everyone else.

No person deserves to be treated like that, especially not before even being convicted

The article yesterday said he got thrown in jail for contempt of court or whatever because he was caught trying to leave the country in florida on an airplane while his trial for tax evasion is still pending and that is what will determine if this guy goes to prison. In all honesty, this guy is screwed.

V. Capacity to Contract. If a party to a deal cannot comprehend the legal effect of the agreement, no enforceable contract is formed. Incompetence can result from insanity or intoxication. A contract made with a minor is voidable by the minor, but not by the other adult party. A mentally incompetent person or a minor will be held liable for the reasonable value of necessities, such as food and clothing furnished to her.

I hate that guy... but if everything he says is true (not sure about that) I have to say that they took the punishing a bit too far.

Why was he jailed again? He did whatever he did with consent of legally adult women.

"I had never been to jail before. They would shackle me in the shower, handcuff and shackle me, make me walk naked around."

"I was fantasizing about Abu Ghraib stories. That would have been an improvement on what they did to me."

Sheltered-much?

BranKetra

Yea if you're not prepared for being shackled while showering in prison and walk naked around criminals, you must be sheltered right?

have the art of torturing down to a science

You do know "America doesn't torture prisoners" is a front right? They hire other countries to do it for them. Basically they must do it, but technically they can't, so they have other countries do it. But in reality, America does torture prisoners. Guantanamo Bay is just out of US territory for a reason.
