Mumford and sons is the best album of the past ten years. Easily. Its just so lyrically and musically rich. You probably haven't heard of it, its called indie music.

Both of my favorite bands, Radiohead and Muse. Amazing albums, with the In rainbows and OK computer being incredibly unique, with a semi-alternate rock, semi-electronic (for in rainbows) theme to them.

As for Origins of symmetry and Absolution, they blend alternative rock great with small patches of standard rock, while also having awesome themes to them (mostly political, iirc)
