Glenn Beck brings a firearm to a movie theater, give your thoughts

On July 22nd, radio and TV show host Glenn Beck brought his firearm to a movie theater. He did, in fact, have a permit to do so. On his show, he had this comment:

"I went to the movies this weekend with a gun. And surprise surprise, I didn't kill anyone!"

Personally, I don't care what the democrats are going to say, Glenn was allowed to do that under the second ammendment. I wish that people would admit that there are responsible gun holders, but *sarcasm*NO. ALL gun holders are EVIL! EVIL TO THE CORE!*sarcasm off*

Your thoughts on the subject.

I believe to the fullest that people should be allowed to own firearms. Should they be allowed to carry them in public? Well that is debatable, I am split on the issue.

I'm not as passionate about this as Glen Beck is... but i mostly agree with him here.

I don't understand what Glenn is trying to prove with this. Of course he's not going to kill anybody. Law abiding citizens normally don't kill people on purpose. Bloomberg's comments were about criminals.The reason that guns have been banned in other parts of the world are because crazy people get their hands on them and go crazy.

Next, I'm sick and tired of conservative radio/t.v. hosts telling everyone that democrats are trying to take away their guns. It's just straight fear mongering. The majority of democrats respect the second amendment and are only pushing for crazy stuff like assault rifles and sniper rifles to be banned.

I wonder what movie he saw that he felt he needed to bring a weapon? Personally I don't really see the need for a gun when watching a movie. Maybe if the movie really sucked you could shoot the projectionist. Now a sword on the other hand, that would definately come in handy.

Agreed... I have several guns myself, and i don't plan on giving up that right. However, why allow guns in restaurants... :|

A little silly to bring a gun to the movies, but if he hada permit, there is no problem.

I don't get the purpose of this, other than being a media stunt.

If he had a good point to make, he could have done it without being an idiot.

I wonder which movie he saw. I'm guessing it was a pretty laid back movie. If it was a heart pumping action movie I bet he would have gotten up right around the climax and started shooting his gun randomly at anything that moved.Locke562

Only if it's a .44 magnum... the most powerful handgun in the world... and can blow a man's head clean off... then everytime someone goes to commit a crime they'll have to ask themselves... Did he fire 6 shots, or only 5? Do I feel lucky?

I firmly believe this is the best way to solve our Punk and Glen Beck problem at the same time.

Despite what i think about the guy, he did have a permit. So he did nothing wrong.
