Well sucks for people working at Pontiac.
Personally though, I think I am pledging my allegience to Honda. I have only had one car so far, and it's a 1987 Honda Accord that while I have had a lot of minor repairs of the years, IT STILL RUNS PERFECT!!!!
Had to get it fixed just yesterday (Turned out it was just the battery and the idiots who had first looked at my car didn't do a good job diagnosing) and when I was towing it the tow truck driver mentioned that he thinks Honda's and Volkswagons are some of the most reliable cars as he picks up very few of those brand cars.
Considering my parents just had to spend $5,000 on a brand new engine for their Explorer which isn't even a few years old, and the Explorer they had before that was lost after the engine got ruined and it wasn't even 10 years old, I really appreciate how well my car has held up and how inexpensive the fixes have been.
DaBrainz
Or whoever owned your Honda before you knew how to maintain their car much better than your parents did. Anybody who blows an engine has to be ignoring some warning signs for while, whether it be a dummy light or knocking.
My stepdad was the owner ofboth the Honda and the second explorer throughout their entire use, actually. The first explorer he had been caring for for a couple years and untill then it was driven by my mom and my biological father who use to work at a Discount battery sohe knew a bit about cars.I took over the Honda directly frommy stepdadand the fact it has survived through my lack of car care knowlege is pretty amazing. I hate to say it but I still don't know too much about cars. I can replace spark plugs, change and/or jump a battery, put in fluids, and change a flat tire, but I can be pretty bad about keeping up on things like the oil changes.
The first explorer that died on them something cracked or whatever causing a bunch of oil to get sprayed all-over the inside of the engine.
The second one just completely shut-off and died when they were leaving the neighborhood to go to church.
The fact that neither explorer lasted a decade while my Honda has lasted over 2 decades now and still runs perfectly says something I think. I personally don't think I will ever buy a Ford, or at least an Explorer with the way those ones went compared to my Honda...
