Where do bad folks go when they die? They don't go to heaven where the angels fly.

Go to a Lake of Fire and Fry , wont see 'em again 'till the 4th of JULY ! .. :)

If your only proof for God is by asking who created the trees, the galaxy etc.

Then who created God, and if you say that he was always there....then i can also say that about the universe.

I believe we will never know the truth, it is impossible to know the beginnings of the universe.

I don't belive in god, but i belive in there has to be something other than after death.

Now i belive in re-carnation in terms of when you die, you re-carnate into something else organic. Either being an animal, or a human or what not. Basically every living thing has a "soul" when you die your soul leaves your body and recarnates into something eles.

The soul it self is on a questfor knowlegde wanting to know and learn about everything life. So when you die the soul has learned what the person it was "controlling" about emotions, work, life and all. When choosing or being granted another body - it then has to try and learn new skills and gain more knowledge for the new being.

Thats what i belive. I don't think there is a "hell" or "heaven" otherwise it would be just totally over populated lol. I just cant imagin, over how many million years, the human race dies and then goes up or down.

So i think its just the soul to gain knowledge and keep going untill there is nothing eles to gain anymore. But for us, there is still many many many billions of years to go i reckon. We have been created for a reason, but like the dinosaurs, there might be a species (for example - another comet hits earth and destroys us all).

Think of the next race? they might be even smarter then the previous human race, thus the souls have now gained new bodies to strive for a new world and knowledge that comes with it.

My 2 cents :)

Cheers

Oh my lord. Pun. Anywho, if God was so perfect, I doubt he would have created us. And another note, if we are sent to Hell for being evil, wouldn't you say that the Devil would welcome us, not torture us? Regardless, being a spiritual agnostic, it is my duty to say that there is no way in hell, pun again, that you could possibly know either way.

Christianity and the Bible, like all religions and mythical/legendary documents that have come before and all that will come after, will become obsolete over time. Their messages lost to newer and more forward thinking ideas. God, Heaven and Hell are what we as sentient beings, with the ability to freely choose, make of them. One of the only absolute things in this world is our existence, we know we exist and we know that at a point in time we will cease to exist. We have to take full advantage of the time we get to make our existence meaningful, we have to choose our paths in life... nothing is laid out for us, it is all determined by our choice.

Religion is a construct of the human mind as one method of giving our existence meaning. It is definitely a positive method... but at some times, many followers of certain religions and beliefs are blinded by their devotion... they begin to not see clearly at to what is truly right and wrong in their actions. We have the ability to grow beyond the limitations of the animal kingdom. Beyond petty squabbles and quarrels. We have a level of consciousness not attainable by any other being on this planet, we have to use it to properly shape the world around us... yet we choose to waste it and destroy the world around us.

You have just put into words, rather eloquently I might add, what I've never had the patience to say myself.

I'd be very interested to hear your personal thoughts about the prospects of faith and an afterlife. I myself am an atheist who is leaning more and more towards agnosticism. I very much doubt that there could be some all-knowing, all-powerful belevolent being that is responsible for the creation and maintainence of all that ever is, was and shall be, but I also have trouble simply believing that a massive exposion gave way to all of that either. I do not doubt that the big bang happened, but I can't help but wonder how the materials for an explosion of such magnitude came to be.

If god is that power hungry that he wants everyone to worship him without a trace of proof...well then maybe the devil was right to question him after all.

I believe in God - but let me get this straight. I dont have a issue people telling me about God, Jesus, bla bla bla whatever you want to call it. Im easy going.

But when they start forcing me and trying to shove things down my throat - i dont have a issue telling them where to go.

Pretty much like those Mormons (Morons) they really piss me off.

Look at the end of day until we have a near death experience or whatever and meet God somehow, thats when we know.

These arguments will always be neverending and cause a lot of fights, arguments and frustration.

I used to term myself an empirical agnostic... but now I really don't term myself anything. My beliefs about the human condition, the planet and the universe contain a bit of everything... ranging from actual religious philosophy, to existentialist philosophy, to scientific analysis and theory to even some pagan ritual beliefs.

What I believe is that there are things about the human body which can not be explained by science... at this point in time perhaps. I also believe that scientists put too much faith (oh snap!) in their beliefs. Sometimes they rely too much on the known and what they can feel, hear, see, touch and taste and not what cannot be heard, smelt, touched, seen or tasted.

As most of us know, the commonly accepted numerical term applied to our "use" of our brains is around 10%. A mass of electrically charged organic material that is far more advanced than any computer ever conceived. Something that gives both consciousness and unconsciousness to ourselves. Gives us dreams. Gives us insight. Two distinct minds of one being.

There are things that are unexplainable, either at the moment and/or most likely into infinity. As we exist right now, some of those things are impossible for our minds to comprehend. Either we must gain the ability to comprehend them or pass into a different existence to achieve the understanding.

In an over technical and roundabout fashion, I just said that yes, I do "believe" that there is an afterlife. However, I do not believe that it can or will ever be explainable or comprehensible for a human being that is "alive." We must become a different essence in order to understand the certain complexities. One of religions goals is trying to give insight into comprehending the incomprehensible. Which is a paradox.

The universe is something else entirely. We are trying to explain how it all began and yet we have a hard time understanding each other. Too much contemplative focus is put on the fantastical and not enough is put on the personal. We are beings that interact with each other... and we are incredibly advanced mentally compared with beings of the animal world... yet for the most part, we behave just like them and don't ever take full advantage of our seemingly... divine gift.

Who created the Moon?Wolf-avatar

Nature created the moon. More specifically, gravity created the moon.

Asking who created the moon is like asking who makes you slam into the ground at 150 MPH when you jump out of an airplane without a parachute. No one has to make you do it, it just happens because there's a thing called gravity.

That is a very well thought-out view, and I can't say that I disagree. I am often times at a loss for words when explaining my thoughts and philosophy. I also find myself incapable of doing things while I am deep in thought.

I would very much like to discuss this further with you, but not at this time. I'm procrastinating on a psychology assignment at the moment.

I haven't seen you on xfire in quite some time, and it's been a good long while since we talked. I wonder why? Is it that you are unwilling to talk, or is it that you simply don't think to log in? If I remember correctly, we've had some very thought-provoking discussions in the past, and that sort of mental stimulation excites me.

It's that I've completely forgot to login. >_>

I should be off to bed now but I will remember to login the next time I am on the computer. Perhaps leave myself a little reminder...

And procrastination is bad... :P ...knowing myself though, the two 10-15 page papers that I have which are due near the end of the month won't get started until a few days before the due date... but perhaps this time I can beat the cycle of stress and doubt!

The fact that you go to church and give your faith to god will not determine if you go to heaven or hell its how you live your life. In my opinion people who sin and do bad things such as killing a person, then go to confessional and all sins are forgiven, thats bs. Its all going to come down to whether or not you were a good person and lived your life well not if every time you did something bad you went before a petifile priest to confess your wrongdoing does that mean you deserve to go to heaven? If you give your life to the lord by being a priest but then do all the junk that priests have been caught doing the last few years, do you honstly believe those people deserve to go to heaven or will go to heaven. If so then i would have no interest in going to heaven, i would rather sit on this earth awaiting the armageddon and watch the world go up in flames.

Never EVER do the arguement

"Wheres proof god exists" "The bible"

its just plain stupid. What if you asked me "Proove to me god doesnt exist" and i just responded with "Look in some science books" that doesnt prove anything on either side. Also dont tell me what to beleive, if god really existed, you would have learned how to spell, and would never have made this thread.

Last few years? What some priests in Catholic Church have been doing has been going on for centuries... :|

The confessional booth was made separate several hundred years ago to prevent women from being sexually assaulted by priests.

I love this, you're forcing people to belive in god because of the possibility of an eternity in hell creating false belief along the way. You know, I heard that God has a very special place for those who misleads his children. :P

When you die you gott to Heaven are hell,If you believe in god you go to Heaven,If you dont ask yourself who created us?Who created the Moon?If you wonder why there,s so many sins and bad things in the world,Look in the Bible,The Devil who was once an angle was called lucifer and he wonted to be like god,Almighty and stuff,So he was cast out of heaven and sent to hell. Then he convinced Adam and eve to commit sin and thats what brought sin into the world,But when the Rapture comes all of gods loyal disiples will dissaper and the ones that dont beieleve will have to stay on the world and live threw armageddon,And if you already died and went to hell,After the rapture god will come and you will have to bow down to him,And if you dont,You will have to be trown into the Lake of fire,The eternity of Hell!So believe in god and you will find peace,Read the bible and go to church. And all the Poeple that dissaperd will go to Heaven and live therein Paradise for eternity,Now would you rather got to hell and burn for eternity are would you prefer Heaven,Your choice,But your choice could change your fate......Wolf-avatar

Thank you for completely destroying the credibility of Christianity and once again making us look like idiots....i hope you know god will bring up this thread on judgement day.

This is laugh worthy for so many reasons. First off, I would never let an illiterate jack-ass tell me what I should believe in. Second, your proof isn't valid. You can't tell people that proof lies in a BOOK. It's explaining proof. It isn't proof. Thridly, if God created everything, then who the hell made him?HessenKnight

Your first and second points are valid, but you might want to reconsider the third.
