Good vehicles for a teenager?

I'm 16 and will be able to drive alone soon, so me and my dad were looking for vehicles for me. I want something that's safe to drive, butnot just down-right ugly in terms of looks. Preferabely a vehicle that can be found for $10,000 or less. Thanks.

But seriously, I have no idea what cars cost in the US. and I don't drive either. You could always buy an old car and fix it with the help of your father. Some dad/son bonding :P

Get a motorbike. Seriously, if don't want to be your friends free taxi service just get a motorbike :=/. Or a scooter if you have no shame :P (only applies if have external genitals.)

I would rcommend a trycicle for many seeing as how they drive like imbecils;.

How about one of those tiny cars that puts your knees in your mouth when you sit in it. And the engine sound like a weed whacker. I've seen clown cars with more room.

For around $10,000, I would recommend http://www.smartusa.com/smart-car-fortwo.aspx. It's good on gas, can't really be a speed demon (it can but you'd have to press on that gas pedal & wait) :P , fun little date car, a conversation starter wherever you park/go & depending on some states, you can park on the street for free without having to drop coins into the meter, which is a plus!

I had an old 59 buick as my first car and then a 66 mustang.

both are easy to take care of but only the mustang gets decent mileage.

if i were to get my first car right now I would probably go with an English or Japanese model.

I always will recommend teenagers cars or journey purpose vans like the Dodge Journey.

A short Yellow bus. I would have loved to have one of those when I was a teenager. I still want one. Cruise around and brag. Fix it up with some polished chrome Magnums, fenders & grill. Afire engine red paint job finished off with blue flames and the words*Leet Cruiser* or *StreetThugsta* on the side where the school district would be.Aclown car horn to grab the worlds attention so they don't miss my ride.

get the batmobile. You will be safe in this. look at that armor. and it can go pretty fast. Plus with an extra cost you can fire missiles.

It doesn't do sharp turns very well though.

I got a 2007 sentra a few months back. Most of the cool teenagers seem to be getting trucks though. what you really want is something that will get you through college.

Blazers are good because they get good gas mileage and have plenty of storage and are more heavy duty than a car but don't eat gas like a truck.
