It's an awesome browser, it's suspose to have add ons later but it's only in beta now, so once they release the actual version it will be awesome. I think it will easily beat FF, apparently if one tab crashes the others stay open.. That's awesome!

I feel like I must really not be paying attention, because I didn't even know about it up until this point. I don't think I'll be using it. Google is great and all, but the amount of data they must have on some people is really starting to rub me the wrong way. That's the primary reason I stopped using their browser sync plugin and use Foxmarks instead.

I have it, but I don't think I'll be using it. It has some cool features, but I still like Internet Explorer better. It's all I need.

I'm gonna say it's the 2nd best browser now. Firefox is teh win but if you're just doing something real quick Chrome is the way to go since it takes like a quarter of a second to load and you can make web links on your desktop and crap which is nice.

Its a very early beta, but I'm wondering if it can keep up this speed as more features are added.

I'm using it and I have performed some side-by-side comparisons and tests between it, FF3 and IE8. Here is what I can say: Chrome is by far the quickest to load outperforming FF3 by almost 3 seconds on my Dual Core 2 GB RAM Notebook. Chrome has also the smallest memory footprint of the three being followed by FF3 and leaving IE8 far behind. Page rendering is a little quicker than FF3 but the difference is really slight. I've made one tab crash just to check if the browser continued to function properly... it worked perfectly. IE8 showed the same behavior. The only one that do not have this feature is still FF3 on which a single tab crashes the whole browser. Granted... FF3 still have a lot more functionalities and a great advantage with the add-ons... but this is a first beta so I honestly think that today we have witnessed a new star being born. Update: It does appear to be faster than FF3 but is it me or is the scrolling was to sensitive? Anyway, add a glasser effect and a slick black theme as seen on 2 FF add-ons and im sold.

I was thinking the same thing, like it scrolled way too far per 'tick'. I actually really liked the way the find function and stuff works in it along with a lot of other little things. It just can't beat FF's extensibility though

Either way it's less. While Chrome starts initially with more memory it has fewer memory leaks so after a short period of time Chrome far and away leaves a smaller footprint

Because FireFox is open source, it will destroy anything that is closed source.

For a beta it's pretey good.

The only downsides are that I can't use the middle button (press it to get solid cursor) to scroll (but I can still roll it) but that's it.

Hm, very unimpressive with the speed IMO. I just did a speed test and the results were pretty low... Compared to my FF speed.... Hm, it also seams my internet speed has dropped kind of low for some reason. Odd. However, I like the looks of the home page. The recent bookmarks and closed tabs thing. Perhaps a different speed dial add on can give me more features for my home page. I shall go looking.:)

That's odd though, the off topic page seams to load up quicker in GC. I'm starting to wonder how reliable Speedtest.net is.

Yea, while navigating GS this is definitely quicker. I'm starting to think that Speed test site is a load of crock..... Or if I have some add on that's mucking things up... AH! I know how to test it. I'll be back.:)

Speettest.net is used to test the speed of your network, not the performance of the browser. What browser you use for the test isn't going to matter. What you really want to test for is the speed the browser handles more intensive stuff like Javascript and Flash, and how much standards compliance it is(Acid test).

Gee, would of been nice if someone told me this sooner. >.>.... Anyways, thx. You wouldn't happen to have a link to the Acid test do you? Also, I just turned off all of my add ons and they're about the same speed now. DAMNIT! I thought things seamed a bit slow recently. It's one of these dang add ons. I guess I'm going to slowly turn them back on to see which one is doing it.
