All these horror movies trying to shock you with gore and blood is just lazy. saw 1 was a good movie, it combined some gore with pschological elements. saw 2 and 3 just ruined it for me. gore doesnt scare me, movies like hostel are just boring. These movies are scary to me.

In the mouth of madness ( again, it mixes gore with great psychological elements)

I agree. but they're the only horror movies I'm able to watch. Anything with suspense scares me to death. :P

Gore done right can scare you. If it is done in a comical or cheesy manner like the SciFi Original Movies, than it isn't scary.

Anybody else seen the vanishing? not the crappy american version, the dutch version from 1988. damn, thats a scary movie.

cube zero wasnt that good, too over the top. kinda reminds me of saw. 1st cube was good, the rest were not.

Go for it. There's honestly only one scene of gory gore. Everything else is just a little blood here and there.

It's not the gore that scares me. It's usually the thought of slow suffering, and the suspense.

Gore is kinda scary to me.  I'd like to think that if I were in the situation that I was about to have my innards ripped out and my rib cage snapped open, I'd be a bit uneasy.  :)
