thats fun sometimes. me and my friend race all the time. i usuualy go around 80 when i race. one time me and my friend were in my car and see a nice impreza, he said i could beat it i say no so i end up speeding by him, couple minutes later i see it he stars slowing down to make the light turn red. we both are at the light he wins... i told my friend i told u i would lose. iam2greenwait what :?
Wow, seems like everyone on GS is against racing in any form. Racing on tracks is still dangerous for you and other drivers...But this kid sounds like another typical teenager driving like an idiot when there are many other cars around. Seriously, if you're going to do that stuff do it when there aren't any other cars around. TC the story wouldn't make you look as reckless if you didn't cut off the other car and almost hit it whilst almost hitting another car.stormtrooper32yeah cause everyone is telling him racing is bad period  at a track yes there is the possibility to get hurt/hurt others but the other drivers on the track know what they are getting into. its completely different than losing control while street racing and running over a bunch of innocent pedestrians who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time
Hey don't hate on the TC, street racing is fun. I have a little story of my own.
My older brother drives an 87' Jaguar xj8 vanden plas (I think) and we pull up next to some chav douchebags in a brand new bmw, they start reving their engines wanting to race. You should have seen the look on their face when my bro actually left them behind (must have been one of those bmws with a tiny engines).
My best friend is kind of crazy when it comes to racing (she does it when no one is on the road) before she had her car she would use her mom's mercedes suv, I never want to see an SUV do 130 again in my life. Another time she had drank some beer and was late getting home so she decides it would be a good idea to speed, driving at 1am slightly drunk doing 90-100 on the interstate the whole time...****ing crazy *****.
Look, the fact that you THINK there aren't any pedestrians and cars are already losers from the start. Everything is unexpected, no matter what! A car pulls out from an alley way (legally) and they didn't see you at first cause your so far away, since the fact that youa re going above 100mph and that person finally pulls out to the main road....BOOM! Injure the innocent driver who probably had family in it. If you want to put your life in danger, that's fine...I don't care, you can do whatever you want to yourself, but when it involves other people in your mistakes, that's where a paper thin line gets drawn... And you just proved that all you (and many others) do is go into a pissing contest and race just because you want to prove a virtual point to someone whom you will never see again most likely. And your friend is totally irresponsible and shouldn't be behind a wheel at ALL! Driving drunk at 100? There's no slightly drunk...you either are or you're aren't.... no sugar coating it. I'm sure the family she may have potentially killed wouldn't be saying "Oh she was lightly drunk...but she still killed my parents..."Hey don't hate on the TC, street racing is fun. Street racing is stupid. Street racing gets people killed. And not just the people doing the racing. Anyone who races on public streetsshould have their licence taken away for two years minimum and get jail time.

It's an adrenaline rush. You have to do reckless things in life to feel alive once in a while. When your old you will look back and have a nice memory.Nifty_SharkTo feel alive? You could have killed someone. Thats not something i want to look back on and have a nice memory about. God some people on this site have really got to grow up. FAST (IMO). No offence Nifty.

If you're going to take a chance at killing yourself go for it, but when you race on public streets you risk killing other people, and you should go to jail for it.

No offense taken. But I do feel that sometimes living on the edge feels amazing. I have only sat shotgun in one street race. Nobody got hurt and it just felt good. If it ended in disaster then of course I would look at it differently.
EDIT: By the way this was not on a street with a few cars. It was a dead street. I don't think we would have risked anything with other people on the road.

well you might look at it differently if one of your friends was seriously injured (in a wheelchair for months, then cruches, she still has a noticable limp) her boyfriend was killed, and the guy racing was killed, and so was a guy in another car.

Well if it was good clean racing, it wouldn't be on the streets now wouldn't it? ^_^

added bonus to your point. And I agree, if you want live on the edge, do it somewhere where it wont potentially hurt others. Go jump off a bridge or something, sky dive...anything that wont jeopardize unknown people around you.
Street racers need to get over yourselves and find a new hobby or race somewhere legal!
Alright so now I'm not an idiot, Bloodless17
I beg to differ.
Doing stupid stuff in general is all part of the teenage experience, fair enough. But street racing on the open road in the midst of other traffic is unconditionally unacceptable. You endangered your life and the life of the other driver, and you endangered the lives and property of those around you.
Have you ever seen the faces of those people in court convicted of vehicular manslaughter? They all look like this whole mess must be some big misunderstanding, because after all they were only out to have a good time and not to hurt anyone. I spent some time working in the court system and I got to see my fair share of "racers" like you regret their "good times."
So here's my slow quiet clap for your race, cool guy.

Good point. To my defense, when my bro raced it was from one light to the next with no turn offs or other cars so the the possibility of hitting a car not involved in the race was zero. And my friend is an idiot but luckily it was so early in the morning there were no other cars on the road. But hey live life a little there's no sense trying to control the uncontrollable...jk people should stay safe.Wow, everyone in this tread is negative and uptight...
Loosen up people.

Dude, there's a difference. If the guy wants to be wreck-less and take a roof to roof motorcycle jump then we're all ready to watch the fireworks. If he wants to stage a Houdini like water torture escape I'm all for it.
If he wants to "race", whether he's in a Ferrari or a cheap ass Honda Civic, with non-racing drivers on the road then I'm ready to sit on a jury and send him to prison. It's like going into a super market and putting poisonous Sprite on the shelves for 5 minutes. Sure, maybe no one will get hurt and it will be a great story to tell the OT forum, or maybe you'll kill a family of five. Who knows? Good times, eh?
Usually I'm chill but really street racing is idiotic enough without being in heavy traffic. The fact that ones deliberate stupidity could end another person's life is just too serious for me to pass off as being cool or funny.Wow, everyone in this tread is negative and uptight...
Loosen up people.

Alright so like 2 months ago I got a Honda Civic DX Hatchback 1992, it has a non original more powerful engine so it runs pretty fast. So, last night me and my friends got in it, went to a party at about 11pm, and got out at about 12 because the cops crashed it :(, so we got back into the car, called some people and got directions to another party, so we go and Im driving.
We got out of the little street area and drove to the main street. There were alot of cars there but as we drove out there were less and less until it was about no more than 5 on it within vision. I stop at a stoplight, turns green and I go, and I notice theres a mustang right next to me. My friend at the passenger seat rolls down his window and yells something out. I look out and see a lady, about 30 or so, she still looked young but when I saw her I thought something was wrong.
But then my friend tells me she wants it. And based on the situation I knew he meant racing, so I was like whatever I'm bored lol. And she just speeds up and I do the same, our engines get so loud it was all you could hear. Alright so now I'm not an idiot, I know even though my car is faster than it's supposed to be its not gonna beat a damn mustang. So I push the car to go faster and then we're at about 80mph or so. But I notice she begins to take an advantage, but luckily we caught up to some cars so we had to slow down.
When we took off again we were going as fast as we could without hitting the other cars ahead. So I see a gap between her and the car ahead of me, so screw I decide to cut her off, I speed out, one of my friends starts trippin out and started screaming lol. I get through the cap and I looked back and saw she had braked in surprise, I passed pretty close. I get to the next stoplight, she pulls out and screams "omg you're ****** crazy!!", but she was laughing, and then she says "Thanks for the fun, drive safe", and we're like alright good night. And after that we just went on as usual.
So yup sorry for the longish story, just feel like I gotta share this. The rush I felt was amazing, you feel like you're getting pushed back and your heart starts pumping. Kinda like a rollercoaster I guess.
Anyone else have an feelings on that rush?
P.S. I'm not encouraging street racing :)
Bloodless17
Thanks for the story, attention seeker. jk, that's cool. Just don't get anybody hurt.
Where do you live?
Ya dude street racing is for idiots and brown guys who live in Surrey,BC.Don't street race it's stupid, and don't post about it on a video game website either, that's even worse.
Ugh, Surrey. I live near there, always hearing stories about people getting injured in street races. Not to mention most of the cars are stolen as well. :PYa dude street racing is for idiots and brown guys who live in Surrey,BC.Don't street race it's stupid, and don't post about it on a video game website either, that's even worse.
THE-TRAP-CARD
Ah everyone chill the hell out, wow, first of all, it was like 12 at NIGHT, how many innocent good people do you see outside at that time? And this is a medium sized city out in cali, it's not like we're passing through the center of new york. And when we got near the other cars we slowed down. And whoever laughed at my car, yeah its very nice you have your little lambos or whatever, not many of us down here are that fortunate.Bloodless17
You're right, no one good and innocent is out past midnight. All the graveyard-shift hospital workers, late-night cooks, firemen etc. just getting off their jobs, driving home to their families... they're all horrible people that deserve to be t-boned by reckless street racers.
Seriously, think about the situation. While it all seems like fun and games, there is the possiblity of injuring innocent pedestrians or motorists. Don't think that you're indestructable, because you're not. And neither are they.
