Greatest Movie Trilogy

What, in your opinion, is the greatest movie trilogy ever?

For me, it would be Lord of the Rings. I don't think you could ask for a better adaptation of some of the greatest books ever written. The amount they were able to put into the movies is incredible, and the whole trilogy is an example of film making at it's finest. The cinemotography is perfect, and having the films shot on location in New Zealand gives the world a sense of scale and beauty that I don't think is equaled in other movies.

The only reason I didn't vote for Lord Of the Rings is because I read the books. Too many liberties taken with the movies, I think.

Yup. The penal colony in some planet where Ripley (and everyone who survived in Aliens) died. The 4th one wasn't really a sequel. Ripley was a clone of the original.

I chose Lotr becouse its a choice in the poll but I have to say Pirates of the Carribean are just so much fun that to me this is THE trilogy. People complain about the second and third movie but I see nothing wrong with them. All three are rather silly adventure movies with great characters, music and special effects some people just take them way too seriously.

That's not the original Ripley. She died in the 3rd movie.

Pirates of the Caribbean would be a close second for me.

Imma go with the Dollars trilogy. A Fistfull of Dollars, For a Few More Dollars and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

I chose LOTR cuz it was up but its really between that and The Man With No Name Trilogy for me. All three of the movies for both were awesome all the way through

I don't even consider it a trilogy. I love the first one and pretend the other two never existed.

Maybe its cuz i had high expectations after the first one and the other two failed to meet them... twice.

I have too many to just vote on one. LotR, The Matrix, Star Wars, The Pirates of the Caribbean, Evil Dead+AoD, lots of 'em!
