Why ?Â
You'd understand if you saw the movie
It looks like a poor excuse to sell 2 mediocre movies for the price of one.
A girl with a gun for a leg? Come on.Yarcofin
Nay--It's worthless. Don't pay to see empty thingsPlayedThemAll
Blasphemy! These movies are masterpieces, but they require a certain intellectual level to be appeciated. And for j****'s sake.... GO SEE IT BEFORE STATING YOUR OPINION!
Seriously, Grindhouse is one of the most well done, well thought movie ever and it's extremely gory and hilarious. I mean... what could you want more? It's one of the best movies ever. A PERFECT movie
If i went to the cinema today this would be the last thing i would see. Even if you think of it as a comedy, its not meant to be which is pointless and wasting your money.haloman92
It's MEANT to be a comedy... go see it. You laugh ALL THE TIME

At the same time, I would argue that Death Proof was a legitimately good film. Whether you love car movies or Tarantino, it has something for either (and I agree with Tarantino, CGI is a terrible way to film car chases). It's too bad it couldn't have been longer, otherwise it could've stood on its own as a film.

Doesn't that concern you?Â
For those who have seen it, how does that chick fire that machine gun leg? I've wanted to know for some time now. And please don't respond "See the movie, and find out", because I'm not gonna see it anytime soon (i.e. forever)skullkrusher13They leave that out. Dude, don't go into the physics or whatever of it. That's not the point. Understand that it is all black humor.

You have no idea what your talking about. Sadly, I thought it looked like crap too. Then I saw the reviews and went out to see it. It's hilarious, it's a total goof of 70's B-crap. Think like shaun of the dead in a way. BUT, I will say this, the first movie is way better than the second.
Tarentino (sp) drags the dialog on for WAY too long.

I know its completely over the top, but thats just dumb. Just how in War of the Worlds, there was this van that could survive a holocaust, but it can't survive someone punching it. Its so stupid, I mean, I'm not a realism nazi but a little effort goes a long way. I might as well bang my head on a table a few times to kill brain cells, at least it'll take about 3 hours less.

Don't even compare this to the plot holes of War of the Worlds right now. This is nothing of that serious. "CHECK THE SOLINOID"
[QUOTE="lol_waffles"]I might see it tomorrow, if it's Tarantino it's good.TheGaru
Thats no reason at all. He drags the dialog in his Death Proof for way to long. It's pointless bs most of the time. Rodrieguez's planet terror is alot better.
Â
Yeah I was dissappointed by Death Proof, I wanted more car chases damnit!
Â
I was really surprised by how great Planet Terror wasÂ

Same here man, the more finale parts of Death Proof were good, but it really dragged with the dialog, something I don't like QT for anyway.

Now, here's where you and I differ. I love Tarantino's dialogue and thought the movie was better for it. Some of the best moments in Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs involve people pretty much talking about random crap.[QUOTE="TheGaru"][QUOTE="spinecaton"][QUOTE="TheGaru"][QUOTE="lol_waffles"]I might see it tomorrow, if it's Tarantino it's good.lemonfreshpanda

Well see, don't get me wrong. I love good dialog from great films, but this just dragged. I began to find myself bored when these chicks would just go on about making out or something in the car. I just don't see it moving the story along in anway. Even though the car chases were really well filmed (no cgi, which I think was one of the points he made in the script) where a nice change.

That's how Tarantino establishes his characters. Is it any different from conversation about a royale with cheese or reasons for not tipping waitresses?[QUOTE="TheGaru"][QUOTE="lemonfreshpanda"][QUOTE="TheGaru"][QUOTE="spinecaton"][QUOTE="TheGaru"][QUOTE="lol_waffles"]I might see it tomorrow, if it's Tarantino it's good.lemonfreshpanda

There's nothing really wrong with having to much dialog, it can be really random too like what we see with QT, but it's gotta keep you in. But, like in Death Proof, it's just too much at times. I started getting annoyed when they wanted to take the car out for a test drive, but they just kept complaining to each other. Maybe it was because my ass was hurting from already sitting there for awhile (it hurt...).
