I don't view it as calling you guys the wrong thing at all.
Now that I think about it, this "issue" brings us full circle back to this thread's intentions. If you guys feel the use of "MODs" is trolling, then state such in the TOU. Don't leave it up to your discretion.
Going by this poll, it seems a great deal of us lowly posters would prefer more transparency when it comes to violating the TOU

You're 100% right. I think there is little chance this will be taken up in the ToU since most of us moderators don't get the MOD thing :)
It's like people writing P.C. instead of PC. It makes me crazy but I don't start modding people for it.

That doesn't change the fact that he's been asked to stop this before, and the only reason he would continue to do it now is to intentionally be annoying. There's no reason to bring this to the ToU because it's a simple matter of what's correct and what isn't. If he wants to continue to do that, he'll get no respect from me. Simple as that.GameSpot is not a democracy. :(WelkabonzBut it's not a fascist dictatorship either. ;) It's worth a shot to present ideas that could potentially be implemented if they are really for the greater good of the community.

Simple as that. Not to butt in or take sides, but why does it bother you so much? It's not a slur or anything, right? I mean, just stop for a second and think of how ridiculous it would be if he actually wrote out every time, "men oddly dancing." Again, I'm not trying to take sides. I don't see the point in using an all caps spelling or in being offended with it, it just seems like an odd argument to me.
Lv. 4 requirement to create topics sounds good....I disagree with the moderation history reduction though.....you made the mistake you should have to live with it despite good behavior.darksword1123Because a mistake should haunt you forever.....:|

as long as this place doesnt allow cursing, then im good. If you look at GT, IGN, or GiantBomb, the place is ridiculous. Tjeremiah1988Yeah. And the problem with GB was that there was too little moderation in the beginning. Trolls/Shock images drove a bunch of people away. It's sad, because it had potential.
[QUOTE="TheJackpotter"]I seriously disagree with that. There are enough abusive and "revenge" reporters as it is. If you got rewarded for reporting all the moderators time would be spent sifting through to find which reports are actually abusive. Plus gamespotters would trust each other less, and it could turn into a big brother/snitch culture. I mean, there is a reason they ended that in the first place. And who are you to know a policy that was discontinued years ago?Bring back the extra points by reporting someone.

Probably someone who was surfing around Gamespot and discovered that!
And they didn't ended that at so many time, like 3 or 4 years ago!

Simple as that.Actually, I've never been asked to stop using "MODs" before. But if losing all respect from you is the only consequence I'll "suffer" from its use, then I can easily live with that :)
The more specific trolling thing would be helpful since moderators have different definitions of it. I've seen at least one thread were two moderators both had different opinions on a thread.Sajo7That is always going to be the case to some extent or another. I think there will always be calls for stuff like that to be further defined, I also don't think there is much of a solution other than try to detail every possible thing someone could do on a forum.
