The learning curve depends on your hand-eye coordination and memory.

No you don't need an amp to play it, although if you have an acoustic/electric or electric, it's obviously louder and clearer.

The link you posted won't let me click on it, but in my opinion the best guitar is a Gibson.

Well, it takes a while to learn some songs... but bands like Sum 41, Blink 182 etc. is easier... Metal is hard. I now play Bass... why not try that also?...

Well, unless you want to listen to it quietly, then yes... but an amp is required... a lot lol... then there's other stuff like distortion pedals and tuning for certain songs, but I didn't bother with that straight away...

Yeah, those look fine... but why not try to get a cheaper one to start with?... then when you get more familar with it buy ones you like and stuff...

well I'm learning the bass, but its pretty much the same...

its pretty difficult, but you just have to stick with it, practice, practice, practice.

for an electric yes, acoustic, no

I'd say no. My first bass (the one I have now) cost about 350. I'm going to have it for years to come, and it sounds good. With instruments price is directly proportial to quality.

a $150 guitar does not sound as good as a $600 one its a very noticable difference.

It's a constant learning progress. Progress is the key word here, because there is always something that can be learned.

I've been playing bass guitar for awhile now but I have only started learning to play the regular guitar for the past year.

It's not too hard, it's a matter of sticking with it. If you'r4e really determined then you shouldn't have any real problems. As long as you remember to have fun with it then you'll be alright.

And an amp isn't exactly necessary, but it is nice to have around.

So what kind of guitar are you looking to purchase? A bass, acoustic, electric?

And you should look for something relatively cheap, but reliable. You don't have to go all out when purchasing something for your first time.

You never stop learning guitar. I've been playing for years and there's always something new to learn. I suggest taking at least some beginner lessons to get you off on the right foot. The easiest way for me to learn guitar is to figure out how to play your favorite songs and remember the chord names and fingerings. I think once you learn your basic major and minor chord shapes you'll be in good shape.

Takes awhile to learn it, it you want to learn correctly. The packages you linked aren't bad. Just buy the cheapest acoustic you can find to learn on. You'll be horrible, so quality won't matter.

That Epi Player pack one is the same pack I got when I started. Its good for the price and comes with everything you need. If you go for an electric Id advise to buy an amp, it doesnt sound the same without one. If you dont want an amp go for an acoustic. Ive been playing about 6 months now and Im slowly picking it up.

Guitars are hardt to learn, don't lure yourself, you could be playing a lot of songs, it doesn't mean you are good.

To be a good player, it is hard and needs decade to master, but just scratching some strings can be done by almost everyone eager to learn.

I play acoustic guitar... I bought a cheap one for about 100 bucks. The sky is the limit when it comes to price though. I recommend picking up a capo, an electric tuner and a guitar stand with it (none are expensive and they are a huge convenience to have... you may not need to capo for certain kinds of music)

If you want an electric guitar, start with an all in one cab and amp. You don't need anything expensive for now.

My advice is buy a cheap acoustic. It's better to start with acoustic since you'l be building up strength in your fingers as well as good technique. Transitioning from acoustic to electric is a lot easier than the other way around. Plus, you don't have to plug-in and you won't be playing so loud to piss off the neighbors.
