If you seriously think the goal of the United States is to give freedom to the world and save people.. I would call you severely misinformed.. If this were the main goal of the US's foriegn policy (or any major countries policy for that matter).. Far more people could be helped/saved for far less the cost if we look at largely ignored areas like Africa.. Darfur and Rwanda for instance were small low scale conflicts with little real military power that led to genocide because no one lifted a finger.. The US goes to places like Iraq and Libya due to the clear economic gain to be made in those countries if they were to be stable.. Hell if anything the West has a long history in PROMOTING tyranny because its far easier to control the said countries in such a system than anything coming close to a democracy.

No I dont believe that. This is what happens when we communicate trough text, we just end up misinterpreting each other.

Please explain to me the foriegn policy fo the Middle East by the west (namely the US) for the past 60 years? In which they supported and sometimes even installed tyrannical dictatorships into the region..

Dude, chill. How the hell should I know. Seems you want to dance around in a discussion. Well this isnt a dance for me, so find someone else.

I don't know where this fear that the government is going to round up guns from everybody comes from, my uberconservative family members who listen to nothing but right wing conspiracy theory radio have been going on about this for decades, sure their are proponents of gun control and generally it's a conservative wedge issue that I think is stronger than gay marriage and abortion rights and all that other stuff, politically though I think liberal members of government aren't going to touch this issue for years to come and especial with a split House and Senate, and an election coming up. Regardless of gun control though gun crime will probably persist, there is no single way to eliminate gun crime but gun control is just one measure to try to cut down on it. Other (and I feel larger) contributing aspects like poverty should also be addressed, and our country can't even get its economic priorities in order and as more people slip into poverty I think an atmosphere where gun crime can flourish will present itself when larger segments of the population become cut off from economic mobility.

Yet again thats not how tyrannies occur.. They occur through the use of secrete police, by dividing and conquering.. This idea that the second amendment is what protects us from our freedoms is utter nonsense. We have had no proof of it.. Furthermore we have no proof of tyrannical government needing to have a unarmed populace to get into power.. In fact its usually a armed populace that puts the tyrant into power to begin with!.. And furthermore the freedom of speech in the past has been curved multiple times with not a FINGER lifted to prevent it..

"The Party gradually gained strength in late 1920s and early thirties through the use of the Sturmabteilung (Storm Troopers or S.A. known as the brownshirts from their uniforms), which whipped up enthusiasm for the Nazis and intimidated other political groups."

...

"Then he forced all Army officers to swear an oath of personal allegiance to himself. The Nazi takeover was swift and thorough: Freedom of the press ended—Nazi organs carried news and propaganda. In the last free election in Germany in March, 1933, the Nazis got 44% of the vote."

...

"1935. Nuremberg Laws. In September 1935 the Reichstag began passage of a series of laws that stripped Jewish people of their citizenship and basic human rights. From that time on, Jews would be unable to escape intensified persecution. Marriage between Jews and non-Jewish Germans was prohibited as were extramarital relations between Jews and gentiles. Jews were not allowed to fly the German flag or to display Reich colors. Citizenship become limited to "only that subject of German or kindred blood who proves by his conduct that he is willing and suited loyally to serve the German people and the Reich." A November 1935 law declared that "A Jew cannot be a Reich citizen. He is not entitled to the right to vote on political matters; he cannot hold public office.""

---

So what do you make of this? There was nothing "secret" about the rise of the Nazis. They literally just beat the **** out of anybody who spoke up against them. They were very public about it. Hitler was very public about his intentions.

Don't look at this like it's ancient history, and times have changed so much. There are many radical groups that would love to do the same thing, in many different countries. It would never have gone down like that in the US. The SA and SS would have been shot on site by gun toting American citizens.

The way the country is being taken over now is via rewriting history in schools, and media brainwashing.

As the saying goes, "Television is reality, and reality is less than television."

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] Uh...what does that have to do with the fact that the black market exists in other countries? Or are you implying the 341,000 stolen in the US are the only weapons in any black market and thus providing the world with all the illegal weapons? Cause that would be the false part.LJS9502_basic

No it didn't. You have yet to tell me why the black market exists in other countries as well as in the US.

I already explained this, I never started that all guns on the blackmarket originated solely from theft.

So then you spoke in error claiming it was due to stolen weapons in the US?

I never claimed it was soley due to stolen weapons, you are attempting to twist my posts to suit your agenda.
