gun joke (some of you might not understand)

The only funny in this thread is the complete failure of TC's comedy. Don't give up though TC, gotta crawl before you walk.

AK-47 stands for Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947 model not Automatic Kalashnikov. Avtomat being a self-loading gun designed before the AK-47.

It would be pointless to call it an Automatic Kalashnikov because they are all automatic anyway (except the civilian models that are either semi-automatic or pull only). So yeah, the joke fails :)

Also, the "AK-47" everyone has come to love is in fact actually called the AKM. The original AK-47's phased out in 1959-1960 when the new AKM entered service. Its similar to how the US army replaced the M16A1 with the M16A2 (and then A3 & A4).
