The only movie that did was Heavenly Creatures, not shocking in the sense that it was really that violent, but the ending of that film and what those 2 girls do was so horrible. Those who have seen the film will know what I mean.

I was shocked at how repulsively terrible Event Horizon was when someone dragged me along to it saying that it'd be a good sci-fi movie.

I was REALLY shocked in The Departed when...
Leo DiCaprio's character gets capped in the head as soon as the elevator door opens
I wasn't expecting it one bit

It's a great, intelligent movie but you have to be able to deal with the over-emphasized gore:P

Yeah, the gore is comically overdone on purpose. The whole movie is suppossed to be a comment on the stupidity of Japanese pop-culture.

It really is something that could actually be great if re-done for America.

I was pretty shocked the for the whole The Butterfly Effect. I hadn't heard anything what the movie was about or seen any trailers so I thought it was a comedy because Kutcher was in it, by the time he started jumping through time and being molested as a child I kinda released it wasn't a comedy, good movie though. :D

I would have said that movie had I not known the plot twists before seeing the movie.

That is such a brilliant film BTW and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone willing to deal with taboo subject matter and violence.

I have never really been shocked by a movie, but Requiem For A Dream came pretty close. Its the kind of movie you watch and then are literally silent, unable to do anything for about 10 minutes. It was sooo friggin intense. Darren Aronofsky is a genius.

Japanese creativity is often frightening and weird. Beautiful, but frightening and weird.

Sleepaway camp had an awesome ending, it turned a cheesy 80s slasher into something much more twisted.

Tokeism

The movie was called "Snakes on Plane." I mean, what were you expecting? If that does not scream B-grade horror movie, I am not sure what does.

Also , yeah , the Jokers pencil trick :P
Oh , and the ending of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels , i was so shocked!
One of the most funniest shocking things i've seen though has to be in Dumb and Dumber , where hes wearing two pairs of gloves , lmao , it dont sound much , but everytime i watch that bit , im literally rofl

Has anyone seen Scum?

I saw it when I was about 14 and no film has shocked me as much as it did. I haven't seen it since, so perhaps it's not as bad as I remember.

The ending of The Mist
The main characters are driving in the fog and they think they're going to die anyway, so they agree to shoot everyone in the car to get it over with. There's not enough bullets so the dad shoots everyone (including his sleeping son) and he's left to starve or get killed by the monsters. Then the fog clears and the army shows up
I have seen everything that is supposed to be shocking, saw movies, American history X and so on, I even saw an educational movie for a real human being sliced in a morgue and I wasn't shocked a bit.

I didn't feel shocked by anything until one day I saw an episode on National Geographic about a REAL tribe in Africa that raises a dog and shows you how loyal they are and spend some time with it and then one day its owner came and bam clubbed the dog hard on his head with a wooden stick and the dog kept acting funny then he hit it again and again until it died of pain and concussion, its head was bloody and it was horrible to watch then they took the dog and put it on a grill and ATE it !!!! now how could a human being do such a thing to his best friend ? and eat it and absolutely feel nothing wrong about it!! Btw he does that every year as a ritual .....a sick one.

Pah you should have learned to never be surprised at the nature of man. Things like that still shock me in the sense that I wouldn't have expected it but not in the sense that I over-estimated the goodness of mankind.
