Not shocked so much as violently repulsed. Like the scene in Gummo when the brother is whoring out his mentally retarded sister to the two glue-huffers. Uber messed up.
And pretty much half of the scenes in Happines. Pedophiles make me puke in my mouth a little.
Oh yes!

What the **** did I just watch...?
A few times. Signs had a great ending, I didn't see it coming.-TheSecondSign-
Speaking of Signs (which was a great movie), the scene with Gibson's wife pinned against the tree.... That shocked/disturbed me. Another shock from a movie for mewas the opening scene from The Ring. Well, I don't mean the whole scene, but when they showed the girl sitting in the closet with her face all warrped and what not. Yeah, that shocked/scarred the **** outta me.

Agreed, and even more when I learned that all the animal deaths were real.

This.
The whole thing is hard to watch if you aren't used to these movies. I know I felt a bit sick.
The gore is so overdone that it honestly didn't bother me. The realistic stuff can make me cringe, but when it is buckets of blood and such it just loses it's impact on me.
And BTW I really must re-iterate how awesome that movie is!!! It is incredibly entertaining and is some of the best social commentary I have seen in a movie!

After seeing Elfen Lied, it wasn't that hard to take. ~ de arimasu
Gore in animes just don't have the same effect on me as something with real people would.

I guess it depends on the person. I look at it from the perspective that it is just a movie. Well done, but just a movie. Not real ~ de arimasu
I wonder how I would react if something like that really did happen.~ de arimasu :?
Yes, many movies have shocked me.
The Sixth Sense, Fight Club, Saw 1, The Departed, The Usual Suspects, just to name a few...

The incredible shock behind Signs was how it was the most random things coming together. There was absolutely no way to know what would happen, because a guy being able to hit a baseball really hard and one dialogue about it and then a girl having a phobia of water do not seem connectable, but it all was. Everything about that movie came together in the last three minutes, and I didn't see it coming at all.
I could figure "it's all connected", but I couldn't figure out HOW. How those completely random accomplishments, where each character had one, like we all do(That one little thing we're so proud of or something else, like the water thing and the kid's asthma) all came together.

But it's got "Bible" in the title. Surely it can't be all that bad, my good chum?
I've seen it, and I'd recommend everyone here to watch it with their grandma, and their youngest cousin and/or sibling.

Possibly, but that's probably from watching my grandma die from a heart attack at the same time my twelve year old brother and his twelve year old cousin are scarred for life because I showed them Bible Black.
