I would not go so far as to base my philosophy on that belief--I would just say that we cannot prove anything and that human existence is entirely subjective. I suppose that I can see where belief could close one's mind to an extent, but I do not see that as being a rule. Also, when you mentioned laziness you appear to have changed your stance from saying that ignorance is the root of evil to saying that laziness is, as laziness would then be--the root of the root of all evil? That apathy is a serious problem showing a decadence in our Western society, I would definitely agree. I have a bit of philosophical food-for-thought for you: try looking into yourself for answers before looking into others; you may have already done that, though.Hmm, well you're pretty close, I'm 16 years old, but from a more philosophical standpoint, and from my *ahem* life experiance (mostly communitarian stuff, I'm big on being social) I have learned that people believe things because they are ignorant, and they are ignorant only because of laziness. It seems to me that laziness is something that everyone has, so everyone has that one specific "flaw." For example, my personal philosophy is the belief that belief closes your mind, and it is also a contradiction, see.
