Once, but that was more because the people I was with insisted on it. I don't really have a problem with crowded theaters since I go during off-peak hours on off-peak days (ie: afternoon showings on like Sunday or Wednesday).

I have a couple of times when i've come late and the movie is packed. Not fun at first, but you adjust.
i only sat in the front row for Tomcats cause i arrived way too late when the movie already started, thats the last time i go to a movie late
No. The closest I've come isgetting stuck in the2nd row from the front, in an imax theatre no less, and that experience did sucketh mightily. 'Neck cramps from having to look upward at the screen the entire time as well as actually having to pan just to see what was going on, on the other side of the screen. Terrible seats imo.
Yeah me and four of my friends went to see hangover 2 and we got to the theater late so we were stuck in the front or second row. It was the only place we could all sit together. It was uncomfortable...
When the movie Ray came out it was huge in Atlanta and the surrounding cities. The theater was so packed the only seats left were at the very front. My buddy and I just said screw it after five minutes of looking straight up at the screen and walked to the top of the theater to watch it while standing up.
I did for the third X-Men movie and it was horrible because I was running late for the movie since I had just came from school that day.
Twice.
Once for fun watching Windtalkers, super loud and the opening scene scared the s*** out of us. It wasn't awful but not great either.
Second time it was Jackass 2 and there was no room at all except in the front. Funny story, 3 of my friends were underage and couldn't buy a ticket so we did a "hey mister" and got them tickets. Then before the movie the staff turned on the lights and stood right in front and asked for all the people who weren't supposed to be there to leave.
My friends all froze but I told them to play it cool. I guess some people had snuck into the showing because they had people with tickets unable to find seats. It was funny afterwards.
I have done it once or twice. It's no good because you have to crane your neck.
I like to sit either mid way or a couple rows in front of that.
Depending on the theatre size & the how far the first row from the screen. I used to prefer it. Reason for that is I prefer watching movies without distracting noisy people eating popcorn around. The front row defenitly gets you some sort of a noise-free seclusion.
Could you have picked a longer movie to sit in the front row? :PI did it once for the first Lord of the Rings movie when it first came out.
Wound up with a strained neck...never again.

No. Hell, I've only sat in the bottom row of seats a couple times (been several years since I have done so, however), and each time, I hated it. Like everyone else, neck issues.
Personally, I like to sit on the very top row, or the one below it, which is why I make it a point to arrive at the movie early.
