Amazing movie. Definitely one of my favorites. The societal sattire is glorious, especially coming from someone who attended a private high school. ;)
Its a great movie and one that is very deep, it took me a many views to really understand what was going on and I'm sure I still don't really understand it all. The soundtrack is all sorts of awesome! I watched it a few months ago with my girlfriend and she even liked it I think.
Yup, I love it.
Link?Umm, to what? You say you love it. I need proof. Like an article or something.[QUOTE="sonicare"] You say you love it. I need proof. Like an article or something.Suzy_Q_KazooSimply my word won't do? I'm into evidence based posting. How do I know you are the real SuzyQ?

Yeah, don't remind me... What a joke of an "independent film." I watch a lot of obscure "independent" films, and Donnie Darko was simply one of the worst. Far too overrated.
Its a really good movie, the Director's Cut expands much more on the story and philosophy or time travel. Its hard to understand, but there is definitely a legitimate meaning and purpose to it all, and what makes it great for me is the feeling that you are just as confused and in the dark as Donnie is.
Meh, one of those movies that are "cool" to like but really aren't as good as people make them to be. Similar to Boondock Saints and American History XMetallicaKingsI just saw this movie on TV and had no idea what I was getting myself into. i didn't know it had a cult following or anything.
I know I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised by so many people not liking this movie. I won't call it a masterpiece, but given the time it was made, I thought it tolda very interesting story, had a wonderful script and some very solid actors in it. I also stumbled upon this movie, but it has become one I can only watch when I'm in a certain mood, it isa tad depressing.
What you should do is visit the official Donnie Darko website. It was made for the film and really cool.
The entire movie doesn't 'fit' into the movie, which many critics don't accept (and I don't blame them).
But I like that sort of stuff and its fun.

When you get bored, Google 'Donnie Darko explained' and stuff like that.

Yes, I agree with you (except the American History X part, I enjoyed that film), but I do agree with the whole cool to like thing but aren't really that good, such as Donnie and Boondock
[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]Also see his second movie, which is beyond terrible.LZ71Do you mean Kelly's next movie after Darko, or the sequel to Darko? Because he had no part in S. Darko. Southland Tales, I think. I know he wasn't involved in the second Darko movie (I never bothered to watch it).
Yes, good film. I think I understood it once after boiling some mushrooms and drinking the water. It was a mystery again once I had sobered up.
