Has Gamespot been freezing for you guys recently?

It seems like for the past few days this site has froze a lot, freezing my browser as well sometimes and then the browser would "recover" the website. Have any of you guys had this issue recently?

Yes, I've noticed IE9 becoming unresponsive while browsing the forums lately.

It seems to be related either to the presence of animated GIFs in people's sigs or to Flash content in commercials, but I haven't done enough experimentation to verify which, or whether the problem is limited to IE9.

I also updated my Flash player recently, so it's possible that that's the culprit.

That video embeding issue is a known problem. No one has figured out a solution to this problem yet.The majority of users expect rangers, mods and admins can't embed videos for some weird reason.

I have not dealt with the issue you are desribing in your OP TC.

No problems with Chrome 

I have noticed a few problems with the forum, but in big threads such as the Zimmerman thread. Other times it's OK. I think it is just the fact that there is more traffic this time of year.

Chrome checks out. All good on this front. Try switching browsers, maybe Firefox or Chrome. That should resolve the issue.
