That's because back in the day when the god concept was created by humans, males happened to be the dominant overpowering gender. They are not going to invent something that isn't beneficial to them now are they? That's why god is depicted as a man in the bible and in paintings. But it defies all logic to me, I don't believe in a god, but if there would have been a god, it should have been genderless or a female, because in general females give birth. Makes more sense to me.
Saying God has a gender is pretty ****ing pointless. What is the use of sex organs if there is no other like God?

Who says there aren't ;) Hindus have several gods (or are they different incarnations of the same god? I forgot) In Hinduism, Devas are manifestations of God (known as Ishvara). You can associate them as the equivalent of angels in Abrahamic religions.
