I usually paste the url into the box and just hit "Apply Changes" rather than "Upload". My avatar took about 30min - 1hr to change.

I have the pefect idea for my signature: santa hats on all of the members of the band, and snow falling as a .gif, with the lyrics to "Snow (Hey Oh)" superimposed on it. The problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to do the first two things. >__>
