Have you ever been electric shocked?

I have few times, only small shock though. First I got shocked when disassembling a single use camera with flash, forgot to take away the battery, got sapped. Second time was from doing the same thing again, didn't learn the lesson. There are other times but I forgot, btw, electro stimulation therapy feels great.

I got a nasty shock from an electric cooker cable once, they carry a lot of volts.

Nope, I sprained my wrist and the therapist put two patches on my arm and connected the patches to a machine. It send out thousands of tiny electric shock that relaxs your tendons and give you a nice tingling feeling. That might sound a bit wrong.

Yep. Twice.

First time was changing a lightbulb :| Forgot to turn off the light switch first. My thumb somehow slipped into the socket after taking out the original bulb. Ouch.

Second time was when my guitar amp stopped working. I had to open it up to check the fuse, and I accidentally touched the one of the valve sockets and got a pretty nasty shock. Ouch.

It sounds nicer then the rod.

I was changing one of the heating elements in an electric stove. I had turned off all the circuit breakers (except the one for the stove was apparently in a different apartment). My arm felt like it was vibrating for about 15 minutes. I've been told I was lucky I didn't get killed.

Lots and lots of times. I've been working around electricity since I was a teenager (30 years ago). I've been hit with everything from 24V control power (like your doorbell uses) all the way up to over 20,000 volt CRT supply voltages.

Its usually not the shock that hurts you, its what you jerk back in to that leaves a mark.

Yeah, I was replacing the outlets in the apartment and I touched a wire. My arm spasmed throughout the entire day. Sucked, but I was okay. And then I've been tazed during training for both my department and when I was in the Air Force. Those sucked worse.

Yea i got electric shocked before it was at my uncles farm, and i was petting the donkeys that where at the fence line and i had forgotten that the fence was on and when i stood up my head touched the electric fence and did it ever give me a good shock :cry:

when i was about 5. Keys and an outlet don't mix. Ma says i flew across the room, and the keys were melted in the socket.

Yeah, a few times. Last time I remember was when I unplugged something from a power outlet, a got a couple of sparks. I got shocked and everything felt really weird for a while. Nothing bad though.

Yea, long time ago when I unplugged a power strip with all the plugs on it and touched where I'm not suppose to touch.

When I was still in high school a friend of my wanted to scare me by pushing a plug in my neck. He didnt know it was plugged in and I got 220V on my neck.

Yeah, when I was a little kid I had a watch that said it was waterproof so I tried to take a shower with it on and ended up getting shocked a few times :lol:

We were flying down at Camp Pendleton doing externals and I inadvertently had my arm laying across the hook in the bird. When the guy on the ground slapped the hook on the pendant, the static electricity discharge through the hook, into my bicep and out my ring finger on my right hand where it was resting on the floor of the bird. My finger was paralyzed for about 5 minutes. The incident taught me a very valuable lessen about where to not place body parts while doing externals. Ouch!

I got electrocuted by a fluorescent light ballast about 10 years ago while i was swapping out some high flo overheads ( moisture fogger ) in a chicken house. Shock was so severe it split the skin open on the end of the finger where the current exited my body.

Had a friend die after getting shocked by the exact same thing while renovating an old government building like a year after that.

Wasn't paying attention and accidentally put the end of my phone charger in my mouth while it was still plugged in, felt really weird.

I tried to cut a 110v house wire that I thought was shut off. It was a good jolt and there was a hole burned right through the blades of my pliers.

When I was middle school people used to always shock each other with those fake gum packs that give you a little jolt when you try to pull a peice out does that count?

We also got our chem teacher in high school with a fake pen that shocks you when you try to click it :twisted: he deserved it

I had a similar test when I had Bell's Palsy. The flight surgeons hadn't seen it before and were amazed at seeing it. They sent me up to the local naval hospital where I had tests done on the nerves where they shocked them to make sure they were working properly. It felt weird having my face twitch without doing anything myself.

Stuck a key in a plug socket when I was a kid. I didn't feel pain as far as I remember but I remember my sister saying "you could have died you stupid bastard!".

As a kid I would plug phone jacks into walls and put the other end in my mouth. Intense.clayron

Yea in 6th grade. I was unplugging a cord and for some reason I got jolted pretty hard. It was really weird because it felt like my arm was moving by itself.

Yep - One time, my father in law and I was working on the electric outlet. I was on one side of the wall and he was on the other. He had me hold onto one of the electric things inside the wall (stupid me - I know). I held it and he turned it on, the bugger. I got zapped and felt my hand go numb. Got to love him! I could hear him chuckling on the other side of the wall.
