Hated it at first, but then after listening to it again a month later fell in love with it?

Wonder why that is....

edit: Since people are a we bit confused. I'm not talking about going to buy a cd that you know your going to hate. I'm talking about buying a cd by an artist you like then hating it at first. But then coming to love.

Yeah. Can't recall of any particular album, but there's a few that I just couldn't get into and then all of a sudden wanted to go back to it and enjoyed it.

There's been a few cd's that I've come to like a lot more after the 2nd play through, but I didn't hate the cd. I was kind of disappointed with my first Japanese cd purchase (Utada Hikaru's "Distance"), but I listened to it again immediately after the first play through and loved it lol.

No, I dont buy C.D's I hate. I'll buy a new C.D by an artist I like...like Radiohead or Incubus.

Then I just wont like it at first.

I buy cd's all the time. Despite my lack of money. I bought Ghost Reveries by Opeth and some Dvorak yesterday. I bought a Wolves in the throne room album on wedensday.

As for cd's that have grown on me, Dead Again by Type O Negative and The New Black by SYL, I both like a lot more now than when I first heard them.

Well, most of complex music CDs(jazz, clas sical, progressive rock, etc.) are like that way: At first it seems like a lot of messy sounds with no sense, but after several listenings, it begins growing on you and at the end it's a marvelous piece of music. :D

So, to answer the topic: Yes, I have :)

I remember when compact discs were introdced but it was years before people converted to compact discs. Probably because it's predecessor was a big clunky thick record sized disc that was forgeten before it was heard of.

They claimed CD sounded better than cassette but by stereo usually the didn't and if they did it wasn't by much. The only real benefit was that you didn't have to rewind it or flip, just pick the track or tracks. But on the computer with all of the sound hardware and software CD is much better than cassette. But all of this advanced sound sampling and mixing didn't exist until after DVD anyway.

Back in the 90s Creative Labs was selling an MP3 player similar to the ipod, but back then nobody wanted and MP3 player. Not until apple made one and advertised the hell out of it. I bet if Creative Labs advertised their MP3 on Television people would have been using MP3 players long before the Ipod and Creative's would be more popular. This is a lesson in how important advertising is.

I don't listen to much music, but the plus side is MP3s are much easier to steal. No more trying to rip the security tape off of discs or hiding them in your cloths. The music industry and computer industry have combined forces to make sure their stuff easy to steal so nobody makes any money.

My first mp3 player was this Samsung Yepp, which was later sold to Creative to become their first mp3 player model... 64mb with black and white one line screen woo The design was way ahead of its time, actually. Ipod kinda copied it.

Alllll the time; I rarely enjoy the majority songs on an album when I first listen to it. Most of the music I listen to isn't immediately likable; the songs grow on me.

I like all my CDs that I bought. If I didn't like them I wouldn't buy them. :| Besides, if it's an artist I'm just getting into, my friend that works at the music store that I shop at will open the case and let me preview it and if i like it sell it to me for a 10% discount because it was "opened".
