Yes and no. I have not met any that have said they are 'against homosexuality', but I have met some against homosexual marraige, because they do not think it is beneficial for society.
[QUOTE="alexside1"]this literally begs the question, if it were true then how come we don't see them on the internet?TheokhothBigoted atheists? You see them all the time. Hell, I've seen some on GS. :| Then you spent more time on the internet than i could ever have. cause I don't see any of them rarely.

One of my good friends is an atheist and holds this view. His rationale is a form of the "it's unnatural" argument.mattbbpl
Why is he an atheist? If he mentions something about rationality then he cannot be homophobic, seeing that homophobia is an irrational fear.

Why do you assume it has to be fear? Why assume some atheists might not have irrational hangups?[QUOTE="mattbbpl"]One of my good friends is an atheist and holds this view. His rationale is a form of the "it's unnatural" argument.Former_Slacker

You assume that he's homophobia due to the negative opinion?[QUOTE="mattbbpl"]One of my good friends is an atheist and holds this view. His rationale is a form of the "it's unnatural" argument.Former_Slacker

His atheism is based on a lack of evidence, which is understandable. I don't believe he views himself as homophobic though, so that line of reasoning wouldn't deter him.No. I live in Canada though and the amount of people here who aren't for gay rights is pretty tiny compared to the US.Ace6301Your population is smaller as well...

What does that have to do with gay rights? Gays can get married here. It's a non-issue here. There's also probably more atheists per capita here too.
I've only met one atheist and he was a hardcore bigotChampionoChumps
You have only met one atheist? That seems strange, where do you live??

Not I haven'? The T is in the wrong place...not I haven', though I'm sure there are atheists out there against gay marriage.
DJ-Lafleur
yes. there are plenty of homophobic atheists. I have had the displeasure of knowing a few and I have come across many online.
I'm an atheist and i'm not against homosexual acts or gay marriage but i am against them adopting kids. Think about how much the kid will get teased in school about his parents. An unrepairable psychological trauma that will leave the kid scarred for life.for example homosexual acts/ gay marrage?

[QUOTE="supergoat777"]Give it a rest already, we have enough threads. Want to know? google it.for example homosexual acts/ gay marrage?

Then don't reply to the treads.

Apology accepted :)I'm a very Strong Athiest and i think any1 should be allowed to marry no matter wat race, colour or gender they are.
And just because some1s an athiest doesnt mean they have to be for gay marriage, Its not like we have a bible writing down every thing we have to beleive in and do to be an athiest, Its quite simple ATHIEST we dont beleive in any religion ok we each have our own views and opinions but above all if your an Athiest you dont beleive in any religion.
So enough with the threads about being biased towards athiest's ok.
And dont tell me this isnt because it is in a way.

They can simply say that they didn't choose their parents, which no one really did, so there's nothing that they can be ashamed of, or they can even defend their parents' lifestyle if they choose to. It's seriously not that big of an issue. In fact, teasing is more of an issue if the child himself was gay
Usually, maybe, I don't know about that. All the atheists I know aren't.☠ Athiests are usually liberal. ☠
