[QUOTE="chandlerr_360"] Actions will always speak louder than words, you quickly realize this once your travel less fortunate parts of the world.chandlerr_360

Alright Mr. all mighty wisdom, you have probably never even been out of your bedroom let alone seen other parts of the world. You must understand reality before you can institute ideals.

When one makes assumptions they invariably don't end up looking good. I served four years in the army and I was out of the country. So I can safely say I have more experience in this than you do.;)

And, what motivation would he have to be lying? I think you were lying about being shot. :| See, I can make blind accusations too.

I stepped off a steep sandbar when I was swimming in a pond and nearly drowned.

However, that's nothing compared to what happened to my dad when he was younger. He was hit by a motorcycle and badly injured by that. To make matters worse, he developed blood poisoning and almost died from that.

My car hydroplaned and spun out of control and went backward into a tree. The tree probably prevented the car from flipping. Fortunately, I didn't even have a scratch.

Once a dog attacked me in a park, scared the crap out of me. I had to kill it, I had to get some shots, I got some bruises, but other then that I was alright. Only time I've ever been significantly hurt.Toriko42

I've had a few near calls crossing the street. On my street it is hard to look both ways because of a hill blocking your vision on one side.

I saw a tralier for the DBZ movie.

That alone was a near death experience.

Had I actually seen it I probably would have died.

Yes I was around the Age range of 5-8 on nice sunny day in summer and it was about 89 degrees and a Nice northern breeze at the public pool...... I finally got the guts to do the "big kid" slide and i was wearing goggels and went down with a 7 second thrill having the time of my life until SWOOOOSH! I hit water and my goggles flung up and filled with water i ws drowning inside my googles so i threw them off (underwater) and (retardedly) took a breath in........ I was chocking and panicking to swim the next fathom up to the surface.... Seconds felt like minutes and minutes...... I don't know if there were any minutes then finally it took the life guard long enough but he/she came in and save me........ END (true story)

I can't say it was a near-death experience (I didn't see some light or anything like that), but once my so called friend hurled 2 butcher knives at my head, and they missed by about a inch. I'd say that could have killed me.

After I graduated in '05, I went to work for a roofing company for the summer. Well we were putting on a metal roof. It happened to be a rainy day. The guy at the crest of the roof was having trouble getting the metal panel to stay in one place for him to start putting in screws, so I started climbing up the ladder to hold the bottom of the panel.

When I got to the gutters, he had let go off the panel and it came sliding down right towards my neck. If I hadnt shifted my weight to move outta the way, I would have been decapitated.

Yeah. About a year ago I was crossing an intersection on my bicycle and a big white corvette ran the red light and I had to do a successful lingering nose wheelie to avoid being crushed by the speeding car.

Yes, twice. Once I almost got T-boned by a car which was coming at 65 m.p.h., it would have been instant death. Another time a surgeon cut open my main artery while doing a biopsy and I lost 3/4ths of my blood before they stopped and sealed it. I almost went into cardiac arrest from what the doctors told me afterwards.

*goes goth* I am always on the verge of death. Life IS death.

Ok done with that. Yeah I have almost died a few times. I have nearly stepped out infront of a moving vehicle more times than I care to admit. There are other things, but that is the most common.

I've probably almost died a few times nothing really amazing or interesting though. I nearly fractured my skull and broke my neck falling out of a swing set onto pavement when I was really young. It was one of those strangely high ones you sometimes see on tree houses. I nearly chocked to death eating one of those gummy worms when I was really young. This is probably the closes since I was pretty well blacked out when my mom found me.

I've gotten my foot stuck in sand when jumping from a dock but im good in the water so it wasn't that big of a deal but I know there's a few people around here who have died that way. Yay me...

Last Wednesday, my friends and I were at the park, and a yellow jacket landed on my shirt. I'm deathly allergic to yellow jackets, to the point that I would need a shot within fifteen minutes of being stung or face entering a coma. My friends wouldn't knock it off of me, because they didn't want to be responsible for my being stung. Finally, one of them braved up and whacked me with his hoodie, and I took off running. It worked.

Well, I've almost been hit by a car a few times, along with some other injuries that could have been fatal had I landed a little differently. But probably the closest I've ever come was when I had pneumonia a few years ago. I was so short of breath I couldn't even speak. My blood oxygen level dropped down to 78% (whereas a normal level is 95%-100%) before I got the chance to see a doctor, and had I shown up a few hours later, I would have been dead. That was not a pleasant week in the hospital.

Just recently. Fell into a bad pit of depression and started abusing DXM (the type of drug you REALLY should not be binging on). Taking it every few days and sometimes days at a time (up to 3 at one point) in high doses too (I have tolerance to it). This must have gone on for a month, possibly longer. Came dangerously close to losing all my friends, my sanity, and then my life. Had something not "clicked" during what turned out to be my final trip, I'm fully convinced I would have soon been dead, or in a state worse than death. It was that near death experience, the last DXM trip and the realizationg from it, and the week of hellish agonizing withdrawal that came after that finally set me straight. I got very lucky. Doing that much DXM for that long of a period seriously increases the chance of irreversible brain damage, serotonin syndrome (was taking an SSRI at the same time), liver/kidney damage, and a **** of very potentially dangerous psychological issues (many of which I did get the "joy" of experiencing... during the comedown and withdrawal). Even during a lot of the later trips, I was having unpleasant physical problems... rapid heart beat and chest pain, weird joint pain, all sorts of bizzare things that have never happened to me on the drug before. My body was obviously pleading with me to stop. Whatever the case, getting through all that changed my life. That would be the second time DXM changed my life. The first time.. just a single trip. This time it took over a month to get something important out of it. Needless to say, it's done. For good. DXM is a legal substance so I don't believe I'm in any violation of the rules.

Hmmmmm, drowned 2 times and got my fever up to around 50 degrees. I was fading in and out when my fever reached that high. Didn't see a light though.

And whats with people and "the light'. When I'm about to die, everything goes in slow motion (This is when I was drowning) andhear that african music on the discovery channel. I ain't joking as well, everything goes so slow that I can vividly remeber what was happening. Maybe I have time skillz. I pwn?
