Not after 18 years of living in Texas. I'm in Dallas and we recently had quite a few in the surrounding areas.quikdash6yea i heard about the ones around Dallas recently and was worried for my folks and friends living there. the DFW area gave me lots of scares growing up with tornado warnings popping up all the time. :P
One went right through my backyard and left a path of total destruction through the field and woods behind my house. then it went into town and toppled an old warehouse, rooted trees and de-roof'd houses. thankfully nobody was hurt-killed.
i slept right through it.
America has some nasty weather.
I haven't seen one, but my Pops saw the one that cut across Offutt AFB Neb. in 1970 or 71 when we were stationed there. I have lived relatively close to where they have passed buy, but have never seen one personally. Most of the ones here in GA are rain wrapped so we wouldn't see one here anyway.
I've seen the forming of a funnel cloud one time. I wasn't sticking around to see it become a full blown tornado. I've sat through a couple tornado watches and warnings in the past.
LumpyChiPmunk. Reminds me of Leave it to Beaver. Let me guess, you were using your phones camera, thus all of the black space. Turn the phone on it's side to take video next time.
why was it shaking show much at the end? :o looks like you ducked in cover or something.Yup. Got a vid of it too VID
wis3boi
windows blew out thats whywis3boithat's what i guessed :P i assume you got out of there okay, unless you're a ghost
i once saw a funnel cloud forming over my neighbourhood but i didn't see it touch ground because i was in my friend's basement. it's fairly rare to get tornadoes round here, so i thought it was amazing; wasn't scared at all as a kid. haven't had a tornado here in bout 10 years, though.
I've seen a tornado while at the Crossroads Mall in Oklahoma City (a long time ago).
I've seen a couple of funnel clouds in Illinois
I've seen a waterspout off the Florida coast and the southeast Turkey coast,
Other tornado-related stuff: I've seen wall clouds in Idaho and here in New York.
Edit:
I almost forgot, I did see a distant tornado and a funnel cloud overhead at the same time (in Turkey).
I see a lot of weather because that's my trade.
can't say I have seen one, but I have been literally across the road from one once while I was in highschool. Only reason there was a drill for it was because our principle glanced out his window and say it.
