i've never seen a tornado in my life even though texas is a hotbed for them though if i did see one i would be terrified. even clouds drooping a little bit give me the creeps. watching how they work on a video or the news is cool though, but i'd drive like hell if i ever saw one. any of you ever see a tornado?

No. There was supposedly one only a couple miles from where I used to live in Minneapolis, but all I could see was that the sky looked green over in that direction.

Not after 18 years of living in Texas. I'm in Dallas and we recently had quite a few in the surrounding areas. Only natural disaster I've experienced were earthquakes in California when I was little.

One went right through my backyard and left a path of total destruction through the field and woods behind my house. then it went into town and toppled an old warehouse, rooted trees and de-roof'd houses. thankfully nobody was hurt-killed.

i slept right through it.

America has some nasty weather.

I haven't seen one, but my Pops saw the one that cut across Offutt AFB Neb. in 1970 or 71 when we were stationed there. I have lived relatively close to where they have passed buy, but have never seen one personally. Most of the ones here in GA are rain wrapped so we wouldn't see one here anyway.

Yes, actually. It ripped through one of the larger intersections of the city I live in. I happened to be driving home from work and was quite a good distance away when it touched down. It was thrilling; I wanted to get closer but thought better of it.

I've seen the forming of a funnel cloud one time. I wasn't sticking around to see it become a full blown tornado. I've sat through a couple tornado watches and warnings in the past.

On TV, yes. I live in tiny little Denmark. We don't have nature catastrophes. If we're getting anything, it looks like a piss-weak attempt from God to prove that the northern parts of Europe are 'dangerous as fuq'.

Ive only seen one and that was a few years ago...it pretty much just dropped with no warning whatsoever...tore through the campground I was at. Nobody was hurt that Im aware of and I gotta admit it was pretty awesome. Not sure why but Ive always enjoyed storms and things like that. My dad was in Texas recently when those Tornadoes hit and sent pictures of twin tornadoes he seen...then called me bragging to make me mad I wasnt there because I chose not to go to Texas with him...now I wish I wouldve lol.

LumpyChiPmunk. Reminds me of Leave it to Beaver. Let me guess, you were using your phones camera, thus all of the black space. Turn the phone on it's side to take video next time.

I've seen two. Once there was forming about a half mile away, everyone in my neighborhood was outside watching it, it was pretty cool. It never touched the ground though. Also was in a weak one driving away from it years ago, was pretty crazy

i once saw a funnel cloud forming over my neighbourhood but i didn't see it touch ground because i was in my friend's basement. it's fairly rare to get tornadoes round here, so i thought it was amazing; wasn't scared at all as a kid. haven't had a tornado here in bout 10 years, though.

I've seen a tornado while at the Crossroads Mall in Oklahoma City (a long time ago).

I've seen a couple of funnel clouds in Illinois

I've seen a waterspout off the Florida coast and the southeast Turkey coast,

Other tornado-related stuff: I've seen wall clouds in Idaho and here in New York.

Edit:

I almost forgot, I did see a distant tornado and a funnel cloud overhead at the same time (in Turkey).

I see a lot of weather because that's my trade.

can't say I have seen one, but I have been literally across the road from one once while I was in highschool. Only reason there was a drill for it was because our principle glanced out his window and say it.

No. While my area isn't a stranger to tornadoes, they generally miss a bit to the north or south.

Haven't seen one, but I was near the F5 tornado that hit Oklahoma City. I was safe, but huge trees were uprooted and so much debris was scattered on everyone's yard. There was also a tornado about 2-3 miles away last year. We felt the wind direction change but didn't see the tornado.

Being in Nebraska, you may as well have asked if I've ever seen water. They're pretty common here, though not quite as common as in Kansas.

I've been in a hurricane before, but that's the only natural disaster I've ever seen outside of the occasional flooding.
