simulated humans are in no way different from non-simulated ones. those affected(simulated) are generally unaware of this. but if they become aware that reality is a simulation they can become non-simulated.

The joke is is on anyone or any scientist ill regardless of what we know now who thinks they can predict what we don't know, because lets be honest humans still don't know a lot about what's out there, period. That's the beauty, as a species we are so damn curious. As far as simulation goes, I think a lot of people pondered such a scenario after the Matrix was released, I've caught myself time to time thinking about, and in some cases it's possible although highly unlikely. I do think our love of technology/development of AI is more a likely scenario that will doom us as much as it will advance us.

well we don't have the proper tool to distinguish the two.if all we know is a simulation then we can't possibly have an assumption of this so called reality, so our simulated world may aswell be our reality too.
