I had to get them removed well before they were even growing in. It was a whole big oral surgery, it was crazy. Got tons of codeine to take home, though...so I couldn't complain...until the next morning when I woke up in a huge pool of blood because my stitches dissolved way too early and I had to be rushed back into surgery.

Got mine removed one year ago next month. Took about 20 minutes I'm told (I had no idea, it could of took two hours and only seemed a couple seconds because of how much you're drugged up), and the bottom of my mouth was completely numb afterwords. Not that bad.

It's not fun, but it's minor. You're jaw will probably be swollen for a while.

No but I have had my main back tooth removed, it took a good while to get it out because I had chipped it and it got rot. And according to the dentist some of my teeth are strange or some crap because it had 3 roots instead of 2:o

Yeah, I got the nitrous oxide AND a Valium drip too... when I woke up and my sister's friend came to pick me up, I was so spaced out. I told her the dentist touched me, and the dentist got all nervous and was like "Uhh, I really didn't... I've got a witness!" lol.

It hurt like hell after all the Mother's Little Helper wore off though... I was taking Tylenol instead of Tylenol with Codeine because I just don't take well to Codeine. If you're of age to drink, I found that Jagermeister helps numb it up. Take it 50-50 with 100 proof Peppermint Schnapps and it tastes fantastic.

EDIT: You've got to chill and strain that drink like you would a martini, btw. It's supposed to be a shot -- they call it the "Screaming Nazi Don't ask for it in a bar, the bartender won't know what you're talking about and probably get offended or irritated.

Yeah I had my lower wisdom teeth removed about a year ago. It didn't hurt at all, but can't say it feels that nice when they rip them off.

Yeah I've had 2 taken out, and 2 more to go. I get them taken out 1 at a time because they're all coming in at different times. Though in doing so it makes it an easier process and heals quicker.

Well, HOPEFULLY I won't have to get mine extracted. The very idea of oral surgery scares the heck out of me.

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed, 2 on top and 2 on the bottom.  The surgeons gave me the choice of either staying awake during the surgery and making my mouth numb, or to just get knocked out completely.  I chose to get knocked out, because it would go by quicker for me and I didn't want to see them put knives in my mouth or take out bloody teeth.  After the surgery, I was able to walk on my own, but I was pretty clumsy, and let's just say my face looked like a squirrel's, being stuffed with gauze and being swollen and all.  All I could eat was ramen, eggs, yogurt, soup, and mashed potatoes.  Once I didn't need a bunch of gauze in my mouth, I actually didn't have much of a bad experience.

P.S- getting wisdom teeth removed during Christmas Break?!  That sucks...I had to get mine removed a week or 2 before last Christmas break.

I got mine done last year, and surprisingly it went smooth as butter.  I was really uncomfortable right before they started (I was still awake/gas didn't kick in yet), but I was out the whole time.  When I got home I was numb as hell, kept spitting up, but I felt no pain or ANYTHING. Was back to eating solid foods that night.

Yeah, it wasn't that bad. The worst part was the nasty stuff they put in your mouth to numb your mouth for the shots, that by the way did nil.

I had mine out last November. They gave me some Advil, then they put me on the IV and next thing I know, I'm sitting in a chair with a mouthful of gauze and blood, wondering why I couldn't talk. I was all drugged up =P I was out of school for about a week, and in that time I lived off of protein drinks and soup broth. ONe of my friend said I looked like The Godfather lol.

It was quite painful, but nothing unbearable...

I had general anesthesia so there was no big deal there. I went home and slept. I was swollen and annoyed I couldn't eat for like four days, but it's not a big deal generally.

Got em removed a year and a half ago, it was terrible. So i got all 4 removed at once while being awake, my pulse went from 100 to 150+ during the 4th tooth, and they gave me Tylenol 3 to take home. For the next 4 days i was awake spitting around 10 liters of siliva mixed with blood every day and didn't even take the tylenol because it didn't work on me. Also on the 4th day i had really really bad chest pain from breathing from my nose for so long. So yeah that's my experiance.

Yes, I had them removed 4-5 years ago.  I was actually surprised because it didn't hurt at all.
