You can go through your entire childhood, teenhood and early adult years without a girlfriend fine. But as you get past that barrier you'll start to want one. It's really basic human psychology, you'll want companionship after a while. So I'm gonna go ahead and say.. yes for this one. But hey, there's someone for everyone ;p
being in a relationship with someone you truly love will almost always make you happier, unless there is a lot of drama assosciated with the relationship which can just be stressful. but being in a happy healthy relationship while obviously not mandatory is never a bad thing.
I've been going out with my GF for 8 months, and we are working out great! I love her. To everyone on GS who thinks you are happy without a GF, try getting one and you'll see how much happier you will be.

I love how people express thoughts from only their perspective. (Though in my odd case it does refer to me as well, I suppose.)You mean is having a spouse necessary in life? No, of course not, some are asexual (anti-sexual) and don't even desire a mate. Others can simply do without it, or may pose a danger to others etc (You can keep naming reasons forever)
For everyday people? I'd say it can be a wonderful thing, but being in a relationship is not without its' share of faults.
Ugh well if you get annoyed easily by girls then maybe you should just hybernate in your room and play games anyway lol. Besides, I dunno about you but my girlfriend isn't loud or annoying really :roll: so I don't see your point about the volume thing. Girls only get annoying if you are annoying in the first place, so.. yeah lol.
Having a "significant other" isn't necessary. If you're not happy with yourself, you will not be happy with another person in your life. On the flip side, good relationships can give you an outlet for emotions and in the end make you happier.
