I have torn both of my ankles and there was no way of seeing a literal tear.. I was about 145 pounds benching 230... Not good. Squats is a very sensitive exercise...you HAVE to have perfect form to be safe. I assume you know this from having back problems.

Belts save backs.. I hate seeing people squat ridiculous amounts without safety gear.. It is just plain stupid. Yeah...that was my max. I have no idea how much I can bench nowadays, but definitely not that much anymore. Not even close. :P Why do you avoid benching?
