Hey guys. So my latest pair of earbuds are pretty much on there last legs, and to be honest I've been finding them really uncomfortable recently anyway. So, with some of the money I got for working over Christmas I've decided to buy myself a pair of quality headphones, and I'm looking for some suggestions.

Now, a lot of my friends all have Beats, but after trying some I don't buy the hype. Sure they look good, and seem fairly comfortable, but something about the sound quality seems off, and for the price they're asking that the last thing I wanna be skimping on.

What I'm currently leaning towards is a pair of Sennheiser Momentum. I've heard a lot of good things about these, and I know Sennheiser is a very respected make, however I've not been able to listen to a pair myself and It's a lot of money to drop on a pair I know little about.

So anyone got any advice? What do you currently use? I'm open to any suggestions.

I use Sennheisers. They make awesome headphones in pretty much every price range.

I use these everyday. Heard about them in Consumer Reports, and I was skeptical they could sound good for just $15, but they are very well made. They are on-ear, so if you want something over-ear that would be more noise canceling Sennheiser is always a good choice.

I use a pair of Beats 2.0's, I got for my birthday. They are nice but i wouldn't pay for them, I'd get Sennheisers instead.

I use a PlayStation 4 Wireless Gold Headset. It works with laptops as well as the PlayStation 4. Also, it has a microphone. This headset works well with Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound and hours of battery life. I have not done it, myself, but it might be possible to use a USB to headphone jack to make it a more portable headset (for your phone/music player/etc.).

@Allicrombie: That headset is comparable to entry level Sennheisers such as the HD 280s. I own a pair of those, too. A difference is, with the PS4 headset, a user can alter the sound settings beyond volume when using a PS4.

Sennheiser is a great brand, so that's not a bad choice. I used to use the Sennheiser HD201 Light Weight Over Ear headset. They're inexpensive, and decent quality, price considered. The cord is about 3 meters long though, but you can always use a tie on the excess cord. I still have these laying around, but they're not what I primarily use.

I own the Monoprice Premium Bluetooth Hi-Fi Over-The-Ear Headphones. I'm sure you can find them even cheaper than the link I provided. I got them for $69.99 off of Amazon Canada about six months. These headphones have really great audio quality for the price, and feature wise they're the best I've seen. These headphones feature both bluetooth playback and wired playback, audio controls on the right earpiece, and you can even listen to music off of a MicroSD card that fits into the right earpiece. Oh, there's also a microphone on this set so you can use it for calls on your phone.

The Sony DRBTN200 Bluetooth Headset is also pretty good, but it's entirely wireless. They're good quality as well, but for the same price I'd say the Monoprice headphones are a better choice.

I don't own these, but I've heard universe praise for the Audio Technica ATH-M50--these seem to fit your budget as well, since you were considering the Sennheiser Momentums.

I would avoid Beats if I were you. If your primary concern is audio quality, Beats are not for you. They're subpar considering the price, however if you care about making a fashion statement... then the Beats are the better choice. It sounds stupid, but that's honestly the only reason why I would ever recommend them to someone over another set. Audio quality wise, it's not even comparable.

Hope that helps!

I've had these for a few years now. Great headphones at a reasonable price.

Been using these myself since the summer and I have nothing but praise for them. Really great sound quality and very well-made, all for under $100.

I own a pair of these:

It could be worse.

I love my Audio-Technica ATH-M50. The Sony MDR-v6 is a solid choice, too.

I love my Audio Technica ATH M50's, not only do you get great basic sound effects but Music is also a joy to listen to. The Sony MDR-v6 were what I used before and I'd consider the ATH M50's even better.

The only thing I hate about these sometimes is the cord tangle, I wish it was braided.

I chose the M50x over the M50's because you can change out what cords you want to use. I've had headphones die in the past due to cord issues, so it's nice to be able to swap them out in case something happens.
