I checked my voicemail andi got a message from an apple hiring manager that wants to talk to me because they feel I have the right skillset they want. I sent a resume and cover letter a month ago and posted a topic about it. The problem is, the message they left for me was from 10 days ago, I quickly returned a message back today hoping they call back. Has anyone been in this situation before? I want the job but don't know if they want me anymore.

Too late. Maybe not. Ah, someone was probably already hired. No, they want you. Is it too late?

I knew I had voicemail but I thought it was just stupid stuff then I finally listened to it and that's how I found out.

Next time, when you apply for a job you actually want, be prepared to be awake and prepared to answer the phone during typical business hours for the place you applied for.

If you have resume's out and don't check your voicemail, then you don't deserve the job, imo.

Well its been over a month since I applied so I thought oh well they won't call me. But I think if they were interested in me then I would definitely be eligible for the next available position.

To be fair, I already have a job, I just applied to Apple just out of curiousity, hearing how it's near impossible getting a job there. I could just use the job for a 2nd income, I really don't need it. I know how to get a job and be serious. Obviously I didn't care much here because it's not that urgent.

If it was just a sales gig then don't worry about it too much. I mean apple retail is better than pretty much every other retail gig(in terms of management and rewards) but in the end its still retail.

If it was for apple corporate or programming well then... call them back, talk to whoever u have to to talk to to try and get an interview and start checking your voicemail.

I got called for a job 5 months after I had sent my resume in. Always be prepared. Or at least, check your messages...

Only one way to find out. Call them and give them an explanation. Sometimes errors happen, people are human. Tell them it was a microsoft answering machine and thats why it failed.

You were expecting a call back for a potential job, yet you ignored a voicemail for 10 days? Good job, you probably just lost it.

Apple as a company I don't like. I do like their products and I've never hated Apple products, I just know their are better products out there, I just like Google better. If Google had a retail store I'd apply in a heartbeat. Apple retail is not that bad a job from what I hear.

You lost the job. They usually want a response from you within a couple days. If they don't get one they either assume you're not interested or that you're too disorganized to realize you got a message or that your poor organization caused you to forget about the message. Either way, they don't want you anymore. In the future, make sure to check your email and voicemail daily, if not multiple times a day when you've got job applications sent out.

Say you were on vacation, problem solved. Or just say that you hadn't noticed their call and you are apologetic for not getting back to them sooner.

Would you hire someone that didn't get back to you sooner? I know I wouldn't....
