If you're French, why are you speaking English on an, what I think is an, American web site?  French people have cool names like Dubois.

are following the actual presidential elections in France?

Do the americans medias follow the competition now between Ségolène Royal, the leftist candidate, who said she would refuse to shake hands with Georges Bush, and Nicolas Sarkozy, the rightist (do you say this word?) candidate, who precisely, during a recent trip in USA shook hands with your President!

So do you have any interest in this?

As for myself I put a lot on hope on Nicolas Sarkozy, as for the internal situation as for the international relationships, I consider it really a pity the speciality that Jaques Chirac to make USA and France look like enemies.

Jacques Chirac is a criminal.

Yes, I am following them. Sarkozy definitely needs to win. There has been enough left-wing BS in France for the past couple of decades.

[QUOTE="helium_flash"]How are elections determined in France? By popular vote? And i always thought that France had something like a Constitutional Monarchy.Video_Game_King

Have you not heard of Louis XVI? Marie Antoinette (sp?)? Those two were killed, and so was French nobility.

I remember studying this but i've completely forgotten.  I think i'm confused on what a constitutional monarchy is.  What is England's form of government?

Well, unfortunately, most French people hate America, but your elections are always widely covered by the french medias which are specialized in spitting on Bush !

I could not have named those candidates from memory.  I guess it's mostly a matter of there only being so many things one can read about given limited time.

Once one is elected though, I will probably know the name of the winner.
