It's 2:23 A.M. right now. Not one bit tired. Been awake for ~13 hours. I probably won't fall asleep until somewhere between 4:30 and 5:00 A.M. I'd like to get back to falling asleep at about 1:00 or 1:30. Any ideas. I'm thinking of staying up all night and seeing how I can work with that. If I set my alarm early, tomorrow, I'll just walk right back to bed, because in times like those I am weak-minded.

I've considered doing that because my schedule is kinda the same as yours. Though I always regret going to bed so late when I wake up because it's like 2:00pm XD.

yea, it would happen to me if I didn't have summer school. You have to break the cycle somehow by either:

--staying up all night and go to bed at 1 am

or

--- fall asleep whenever and set an alarm thats suitable

I'm working on the same problem. One thing you can try is setting your alarm for like 10:00AM, and just getting up then and making yourself busy (like working out or something). Then, you should be dead tired by the next night, but even if you arn't, just set your alarm everyday for that same time and do the same thing until your body starts following that schedule.

Dude, this is EXTREMELY simple.

Lifestyle changes are difficult. And changing your sleeping schedule to a particular time is a lifestyle change. These kinds of changes require that EFFORT be put into making such a change.

Not a month ago, I got pissed off at somebody here who was making a similar thread. That dude had to be awake at 6 AM and he was still on Gamespot reading suggestions on how to get to sleep at 2:30 AM. And I just had to yell at him, because that's messed up.

Yes. If You're not accustomed to falling asleep by 1 AM, you probably WON'T fall asleep by 1 AM the first time you try.

Too bad. If you want to start going to sleep by 1 AM, you're just gonna have to deal with it. If you want to fall asleep by 1 AM, you need to be in bed by 12:30. I don't care if you actually fall asleep or not. You just need to TRY. After about a month of getting in bed at 12:30 and lying awake wishing that you could get to sleep, eventually you'll actually end up falling asleep sooner and sooner.

There are no miracle pills that make you get in shape. There are no miracle pills that make you immediately stop smoking. There are no miracle pills that make you immediately fall asleep whenever you want to with the snap of a finger. If you want to get to sleep by 1 AM, you need to TRY. You need to set some damn rules. Rules such as "if it's after 12:30, I will not go onto the internet and ask how to fall asleep".

That annoys me when I see these kinds of "problems" because they aren't even problems at all. If you consistently got into bed at bedtime instead of hanging around on te internet, it won't take long before you're consistently falling asleep 10 minutes after getting into bed.

Use a sleepray, oh wait, they don't make those yet.

Trying staying up late as possible and then fall asleep in the afternoons, and then sleep later and later until you get where you want it.

Perfect thing for that is... Staying up!

If you pull an all nighter you will obviously be tired later on. Then the following night fall asleep at your desired sleeping schedule and bam! You're back on track.

Worked for me.

A small dose of sleeping pills might work. Taking a hot bath and relaxing for an hour before bedtime is supposed to help. Oh, and try chewing a little honeycomb.

The truth is often grumpy, no matter where it appears or who serves as its vessel. That's because people ignore it most of the time.

I had the same thing. Try to get up early, so you go to bed earlier as well.

Just make a habit of going to bed at a certain time and getting up at a certain time. Your body will adjust over a few days.

the best way to do is to workout (run, lift, bike, swim ect) really hard at about.. oh.. lets say 6pm ish, even if you are in shape if you push it to the max you will be super tired by 12 and will be able to fall asleep, and all it takes i one day to get back on a schedule

I recommend just setting your alarm early and then just going for a day on what little sleep you get. By the 2nd night you'll be ready to go to sleep at a reasonable time.

At least that is what I do. Then again, I have always been able to switch my sleep schedule up in a heartbeat seeing as I can go on little sleep and keep up when I am dead tired.
