It's bitter and very bitter. Even cappacino doesn't taste good. I only like Iced Coffees that's because it's sweet. But my friend just love black coffees, I ask him how can he take the bitterness and he just said he like it.

I don't know,i still don't like it but ehh..most people do...i guess it's sort of an acquired taste..
That is why you use sugar.GrandJurySugar ruins the flavour. I don't see a problem with the biterness, it's a good flavour.
Refined taste and all that. The same reason young'uns think beer tastes like wee-wee.
With sugar it's much better, and if there's any cream in my fridge I'll use that instead of milk for ultimate super coffee.
I also find putting milk/cream in before you put water in makes it taste creamier and nicer. Water before milk/cream makes it taste all watery and crap.
I only drink black coffee. I'm not so sure if its that I actually like it or simply that it's become part of my morning ritual and without it I will get cranky.
Its an aquired taste - like a lot of drinks out there. IMO - the stronger and More bitter, the better. The thing that usually temps folks is the Great smell. Even non coffee drinkers Love the smell of brewing coffee. Makes u want a cup anyway. I'd assume most people dont like thier very first couple trys of drinking coffee...
Personally, I began liking coffee due to others liking coffee. Meet and study in coffee shops, or at friends houses - and especially when you hit a point in your life when its really hard to get up in the morning.
Alcohol is obviously the same. Id say it will depend on time whether or not you try coffee again...You never know when you will start aquiring different tastes.

B-b-but I like beer and I only had a sip of it when I was 7. Anyway I know add sugar in coffee will make it better, but I just don't know how people drink the strongest coffee without it.
I love coffee but it must be quality coffee. I suppose working as a barista at Starbucks has spoiled me in that regard. Though, I admit I certainly do love local coffee shops despite my bias towards Starbucks.
In most restaurants I must drown out of the coffee flavor with sugar and cream but I prefer my coffee black if it is of good quality. As far as "gas station coffee" it also sucks and the "cappuccino" machines are horrible. They are not even traditional cappuccinos and they are way too sweet in an effort to drown out the nastiness.
Even though I am complaining, I certainly do love better quality coffee, espressos, americanos, cappuccinos, lattes, etc. whether they be hot or iced. My favorite drink is 6 shots of half decaf pored over ice, just a little bit of sugar, shaken, and then breve pored over top.
I like coffee. I asked the doctor if I can drink it, it's badfor your health he says, I disobeyed his orders and I went to Starbucks but I found him there instead. You know I don't mind him cheatin on me but I wish he'd get that out of his hand. The brand new Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte...
It's a refined taste. And delicious. I take it black half the time and with some cream/sugar the other half.mattbbplSame here. When I first started drinking coffee I liked it very sweet. Now my usual cup of coffee has just a bit of flavored creamer in it (vanilla caramel or french vanilla).
After reading through this thread I had the sudden urge to brew a cup. Thank you gamespot, for supporting me through my caffeine addiction.

I kind of wish the coffee tasted like it smells, because the smell of coffee is absolutely wonderful. The taste does take a bit of getting used to, but it grows on you. A good cup of coffee can be refreshing. Of course, it is never going to beat a good cup of tea though. Tea is a way of life. :P
P.S. Disappointed at the lack of Agent Francis York Morgan in this thread.
The same reason why people like beer and scotch. Its an aquired taste. Ask me a year ago "do you like coffee" and I'd answer "hell no!" Now, I love caffe latte's with extra espresso.
Right now, I'd rather choose tea with milk and sugar than coffee with milk and sugar. Tea is actually nicer for me, and I can't wait to get some beer.
