Dreaming that you're falling, and then you hit the ground and wake up. I heard that can kill you.
Also, about a month ago I was looking for my dog at a park near my house. He managed to go down a really icy trail on the side of a hill and couldn't get back up, so I had to go down and get him. When I was walking down, I lost my footing and stated sliding down the hill, almost off the cliff at the end that overlooked a lake.
Neither are really too fatal, but those are the times I've come closest to dying :P
I've almost drowned twice, once while scuba diving, and another when I got caught under some kayaks while going through rapids and scraping my back on the rocks.
I'm guessing a panic attack doesn't count as nearly dying, but it felt like I was dying, and it was the worst thing I have ever experienced. I still have bad dreams about it occasionally, and I only recently got over some anxiety problems that remained after it happened.
Well, once a gang member (not one of the pawns, but someone analogous to mid-level management) had a gun pointed at my head when there were some issues between him and a friend of mine (my friend had unwittingly gotten in a fight with one of his pawns, and, due to his hot-headedness, didn't really want to work things out with this "manager"); I knew he wouldn't shoot, though, unless I kicked him in the crotch or something. We were able to settle the problems, though, so it all worked out.
A situation in which I actually thought I was going to die?
Probably the time I nearly broke my neck back in the 3rd grade-the doctor in the ER said that if I were 10 pounds heavier, my neck would have snapped and I would have been, at the very least, paralyzed.
I was walking over a (seemingly) frozen over pond one day a few years ago...ice broke underneath me, I plunged in, kept trying to pull myself out and the ice kept breaking. Eventually, it held, thank God, and I was able to get out.peicheryeah that would be scary. I bet you couldnt feel half of your body for a while.

It was miserable. It was track practice so I had to run back to school a good 3 miles or so in the freezing cold, dripping wet. A good friend of mine carried my sweatshirt back for me though, cause it weighed about 10 pounds after gettin soaked :P
Hmm, so many. I almost got run over by a boat and a car, almost drowned on several occasions, and my friend threw two butcher knives at me, both of which missed my face by an inch, and a couple others, but I can't remember them.LZ71Wow, doesn't sound like much of a friend.

A car almost ran over me when I was little. I also had a strain of the staph infection MRSA when I was like 12 and was severely sick for 2 months.

Well he's normally cool, but he has random spurts where he gets extremely pissed. This was one of those times, and I guess I said something that offended him, and he just runs at me with the butcher knives, and chucks them at me. Needless to say, i'm not friends with him anymore.

Close enough to not want to be that near again....unless Death is coming over for tea and a smoke :)I almost drowned in a pool once when I was little which was before I knew how to swim. Also one time when I was getting off a bus and was about to cross the street when suddenly another bus almost hit me from across the lane I was about to cross. The bus that I was getting off of was blocking my view of the other bus that was crossing over so yeah, that was close.
Well when I was a toddler I stuck a car ignition key in a wall socket, the plastic end of the key melted and the socket short-circuited. If it hadn't been for the plastic part I was holding onto I don't know if I would still be around.
When I was 12 and I was with a few friends. One of my friends foolishly poured gasoline onto a camp fire and the flames quickly jumped up and the whole gas tank caught on fire. We ran and maybe 15 seconds later the interior of the tank caught fire.. it made a nice fireball and my mother grounded me for a long time.
Nothing noticeable has happened since then however, 9 years without danger.
Just head on collisions with some kid who could barely drive...
I fear for my life everytime I enter his car..
The only time I've come close was when I was 7 I has hanging out with a friend and was using his extra large bike with no brakes(found this out after I got on). Shortly after I found out, I found myself going down a very long and steep hill with cars coming at me and behind me. I was almost hit a few times and somehow managed to get to the bottom of the hill unscathed.Shenmue_JehutyThat sounds really scary.

I did that when I was little, I stuck a brad into a light socket at my sisters girl scout meeting and the socket popped and my hand got black and I took out the whole electricity in the building lol. It was my birthday too.I haven't really had any.
I think one of the weirdest things to live with would be if you actually died but were brought back to life. That would just be hard to comprehend.
Probably the time me and a friend almost got shot by a bunch of cops with fully automatic weapons. Let me explain.
Right next to the rifle range where we liked to go shooting, there's a police range where the SWAT team trains with fully automatic weapons (m4s, mp5s, etc). There's very little separating the two ranges. One day, we were down range checking our targets, and I guess there was very poor coordination between the range officers at the two ranges, because the cops opened up with everything they had while we were still down range. Some of the rounds started richoceting and landing in the mud not far from where we were standing. We ran like hell. Very scary experience.
