have a pleasant day

You don't seem to understand how the Olympics works. It's not supposed to be a contest of country vs country. If it was than each country would have the same amount of players.

Frankly I wouldn't mind hearing more about Sweden. In fact, we (non-American users at the very least) should start talking less about America and more about some other interesting countries.

Do you have a problem with those too?

I was too speaking "tongue-in-cheek" so settle down.

On a somehow different note I can't see a shirt with that photo on being indicative of good fashion sense. I imagine it would look dumb but maybe I'm wrong.

Beat me to it.

Does the rest of the world even try? Y'all look pathetic to the greatness that is America :)

Nothing else really needs to be said. Frankly, I don't even care about this kind of stuff as I am not a rah rah my country/city/state/college sports guy, but the premise of the thread is so woefully misinformed it's actually fairly comical.

Yes, you should, unfortunately your (and those like you) obsession with America won't let that happen.

Except that I don't make topics about 'murica, like ever. I'd think very little of myself if I had an obsession with it.

Well at least we're getting somewhere. You can obviously admit your feelings toward the US, so that's a start. Now, out of all your posts that speak specifically to, in regard to a country, or in a thread aimed at a specific country, how many do you wager are aimed at the US vs other countries? Just browsing your post history that answer is pretty evident. So coupled that with your clear disdain, it's pretty obvious there's an unhealthy obsession.

This is preciselywhy you don't talk about "Sweden" or whatever country that much.

In Ice hockey, Russia and Canada and even countries like Sweden, Finland and Czech Republic are better. And that's basically the only countries in addition to 'murica that gives a sh*t about it.

In basketball 'murica is not SObad I guess but Yugoslavia/Serbia or something has them beat.

Even in Handegg Japan beats America.

You people have 4 sports that no one cares about except for you. You are >300 million people. Yet you barely manages to kinda be ok in one of them (basketlol).

Pathetic. Shame.

not to mention they got their ass woophed by us small belgians in football. euhm right you call it soccer

because rugby is only with the feet right ? lol

1. Tell that to Japan, The Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Taiwan. They all love baseball. Baseball is a game where the best team doesn't always win. Cuba, much like China with Gymnastics and Diving, forces kids into training at an early age in baseball and is essentially their life's purpose.

2. The worlds best basketball players come from the U.S.

3. If you're referring the U.S. Football as "handegg", you're batshit crazy if you think any country could put together a team that even belongs on the same field as the best U.S. Football players.

I watched a couple of World Cup matches and got tired of those pussies writing in pain when another player so much as touched them. In American Football, you practically have to knock someone unconscious or blow out their knee to get them off the field. Soccer is great...for athletes that are 5'9" (1.75m) and 160 lbs (72kg).

Don't forget MMA. Americans are dominating MMA too

If America wanted to, they would dominate soccer easily. But our best athletes play Basketball/Baseball/Football.

Even though I hear stories about how youth soccer is on the rise(thanks to Hispanics in US), kids are still lured towards Basketball/Baseball/Football.

I played "futbol" in 2nd and 3rd grade, got tired of orange slices and Capri Sun, and focused my attention on baseball, basketball and folk-style wrestling.

The flaw in your reasoning is that I rarely if ever make topics so I don't have a choice but to post in topics that others make. Now if the topics that other member make in OT pertain predominantly to the U.S that's not my fault. I shouldn't be held accountable for the preferences of others. If I don't post in these topics then I would be rarely posting in OT if at all. I guess that's one of the downsides of frequenting a forum that is overwhelmingly populated by Americans.

This is precisely why I constantly speak of the U.S as opposed to examining other countries, be it Sweden or any other. If you go back to my post history you will find out that I've never ever made a topic relating to the U.S.

But I want to post and I have little choice over where I post since its not me who's making the topics around here.

Even with that said, you have a choice about where you post. Give yourself some credit here.

That choice would largely boil down to a choice as of whether to post or not to post at all.

There's no flaw, by in large when you post about specific countries, even in thread not about a specific county, it's still about the US. You choose what and where to post, nobody is forcing you. It's time to face the music...you have an unhealthy obsession with the US.

*edit*

But yes, any thread on the US is sure to draw you as well lol. Maybe especially...

You got cause and effect mixed up my friend so I don't think I'll be able to convince you otherwise.

If I truly were obsessed with the U.S you should be flattered.

People's unhealthy obsession with the US isn't flattering to me at all. Although, you shouldn't feel all that bad, it's not that uncommon among individuals from other countries. You are in good company with people like evildead lol.

The funny thing is I actually have this shirt.

Why am I not surprised

What's your problem with me wearing tongue-in-cheek patriotic t-shirts? I also wear shirts like this:

Do you have a problem with those too?

That shirt is offensive to trex's (trexes?) everywhere. Reported.

Knowing this website I'll probably be modded for it, too. Seriously, please flag it. I want to see what happens.

Everyone in the world care about football but yet even though almost no one except for 'murica cares about baseball(lol) 'murica gets its ass spanked by Cuba.

Pathetic. Shame.

Poor attempt at trolling, just another jealous European or Aussie on these forums .......ho-hum, turn the page.

Reason why America gets so much hate on this forum is because many of the people resent the top country, just human nature for them to be a bit jealous of another countrys greater prosperity and influence in the world. We have our share of problems, no question, but we are still are the overall best country in the world, indisputable, but I'm sure those who can't face that will continue to try to convince themselves they have it as good.

This is spot-on, no-one else is close to the U.S.

What exactly do you base this on? Because in every important category America lags behind other first world nations besides gun ownership, incarceration rate, and most defense spending.

Other sports were invented by single nations. The difference being other countries wanted to play them.

@SolidSnake35: A lot of other countries play baseball. I guess Japan, other parts of Asia, and Latin America don't count? I guess if Western Europe doesn't it like it then it doesn't count, huh? Or how about basketball?

Soccer spread so widely because all you need is a ball (good for developing countries) and because of colonialism. Congratulations. It's even more boring to watch than baseball. And I played high school soccer and club soccer (since I was 8). The only reason Americans watch it during the World Cup is because it's like the Olympics. Hardly anyone watch swimming or track and field for non-Olympics events.

I find it hilarious and somewhat sad how Europeans get so upset when people don't like something they like. Why the fvck do you care? Most American's couldn't care less that you don't like Football or Baseball.

No offense but Australia , Asia , Europe , Africa , North America , South America plays soccer.

Mind it i'm not bashing US sports at all, they awesome and its admirable US guys enjoy them and i respect that. Every country got own individual sports also. All good .

All i'm saying is its really hillarious when idiots claim soccer is better than US sports ( Like TC ) or users like you who claim soccer is boring compared to any US sports.

Please don't be ignorant like TC

This entire thread is ridiculous. Australian rules football, Gaelic football, Canadian football......leaving football there is hurling, shinty, curling etc. I find it ignorant that anyone wants cultures to disappear. Morons....

Baseball is actually very popular in many parts of the world. The US, central and south america and especially asia. It's just essentially Europe and Africa that dont have much baseball.

I was responding to the idea that American had its own sports, as if other sports were designed by committee....
