the acid only made him white. Hmm acid lead to the malforming of his face, which lead him to getting some unlicensed skin doctor with poor tools to fix his face.. Which lead to the scars on his face.. As well as the Hair and skin color... Least thats what the Burton's movie lead me to believe.the make-up artest put them there...
the Joker in the comics never had scars that was only for the movie and they never gave a real reason...which just made his character more interesting and mysterious.
