I'm sure the job has a terrible connotation attached to it, but it was actually a great job. It was right across the street from the beach so I could hangout there all day and work at night. The people made the whole thing worthwhile as well.

[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]I have friends who are paid cash-in-hand too and they're eighteen. I've always wondered if it's legal, since they don't pay taxes whereas my pay is taxed before I get it. I don't see why they should get to dodge it.pianist

It depends who they're working for. But if they're being paid cash-in-hand, they probably aren't making enough to really matter when it comes to taxes. If you're talking about mowing lawns and such, none of those people would even make it into a taxable situation by the end of the year. And if they're working for their parents, the 'wages' could be called 'gifts,' and would be perfectly legal and perfectly untaxable, at least where I live.

They work at a bar. It's poor pay but they make £4.20 an hour and that must add up to a substantial amount per week. Besides, I'm taxed regardless of what I earn.

I work as a rinkguard at an ice rink. I've always liked ice skating and playing hockey so... I started 3 years ago and I still work there. I have another job too.

[QUOTE="TwiztidJoker"]Worked on a farm milking cows, shoveling crap, and move hay bales. For five bucks a day. It sucked.pianist

a day? what country is this?

Maybe he was just really young and working for his parents. Most people's first job would be doing some odd chores around the house for beans, but they probably wouldn't consider that their first job.

If odd chores at home can be consider the first job...so mine i should say when i am 13yrs old. I baked cakes at that age as my mum sales it. But then i didnt consider its a job as i never get pay for it.

Our school did that, they couldnt afford English cleaners, so they started employing the polish, then they started advertising for students to clean after school

I was a dishwasher/bus boy at a local bar & restaurant. I got it because I was looking for work and a friend of mine worked there and she said they were looking for people, so I applied and the owner pretty much told me right after I gave her the application that I could start as soon as possible. It was sweet I got free soda on tap and even a free meal at lunch. Although I am glad that I lost the weight that gained from working there. lol.

I was a field technicians assistant. I crawled under houses and in attics pulling CAT5 internet cable for IPTV installation. I got the job through connections. Meaning my dad. I got all my other jobs through connections as well. Never had an interview and for all the jobs I applied for and went to an interview I never got those jobs

My neighbor and a few of my friends worked at a Pretzel Shop. Got the job a few days later after i gave in my application. Not the best job, but my friends if they worked that day with me made is a little more interesting. customers are rude and sometimes forget you are human. i'm still working at this place, but i was just recently hired as a YMCA teaching counselor. Pretty much got the job because of my sister. Instead of getting paid $7.15 without a set schedule and working less than 18 hrs a week. I'll be working 40 hrs(mon-fri)away making 10 dollars an hour and teaching fun science to small kids :D. i'm thinking of applying to American Eagle to work on weekends. or after the YMCA job. Trying to save as much money so i won't have to worry about money when i move 6 hours away from home for college.
