I didn't even realize that we didn't have an accent until my teacher in high school said it. But why don't we have British accents? And if we don't have accents who else talked liked us before America was founded? this is just one big face palm...

America has it's own accent just like every country does. Thats why we rape other languages when we try to pronounce them.

I think the CA and midwestern accents are a little, idk, "clearer" than other English accents. Difficult for me to explain though. All English accents seem to muddle vowels together.
