Got thinking about this question today when my colleague said she can sleep anywhere and at the drop of a hat and I said it takes me an hour or so on a good night to fall to sleep.
I'm not able to just 'clear my head' so I sort of daydream - I pick a story like playing at a rock concert or rescuing my friends in a zombie apocalypse and play it out in my head like a movie, and at some point during that I fall to sleep. I've been doing that every night since I can remember. If something interupts that (like someone snoring or people talking outside the house) and I can't concentrate on the story then I can't fall to sleep.
What techniques does OT use to fall asleep?
P.S I'm not interested in the 'activities' you do before sleep! ;)
