Never read that quote before, I wouldn't deny that. In every aspect of our existence we deal with fear, punishment reward. Ok zero religion straight atheist mode. I still need to keep my job out of fear i will be punished by no paycheck and hope to be rewarded by a fatter paycheck.

The thing about that quote was that you don't need religion (punishment) to be good, at least in the context of this conversation.

Secular Humanism, hooray!

The bible is basic information before leaving earth. Everyone who considers themselves christians should read it and have at least some knowledge about the information that's in it. I am not saying you need to have it memorized or anything though. My question is for the people who don't belive in it and mock it. What happens when you die, find out God/ Jesus is real then what?

playmynutz

And what if you die and find out that you've been worshipping the wrong deity this whole time? What then?

That's why I do agree with the bible a lot but when it comes to what exactly is the creator. All I know is the God i prey and worship to is perfection. Maybe thats not the God from the bible but at least I'm secure that I pray to a God of perfection

hahahahahahahahahaha God I "prey"

You don't need religion to be good, i can agree. Still, I f*cking hate I am in the corporate system of rewarding me when I agree with them and punishing me when I disagree with them. I'd rather be a slave of religion than continue to be a slave of corporate america.

I'm actually studying it right now. So, for the moment, scholastically. That said, the Bible has many literary genres.

Basically the same way David Cross interprets it. A book of D&D bull*#$^ that is almost too easy to make fun of.

I believe that the bible is the inerrant word of God, but not every word is meant to be interpreted literally.

Yeah for an omnipotent being that God guy is fairly vague.

He's likely focusing his attention on all the alien life rather than us.
