How do you shake the groggieness from a nap?

Just woke up from a nap, and feel sleepier than when I went to sleep. Any tips for getting my head through the fog?

Your mom forgot to give you your juice box. Go to the fridge and if you can reach grab one for yourself.

Take a cold shower and if that doesn't wake you up then I don't know what will.

I have a hole conveniently located under my second-story window filled with rusty nails, and the first thing I do in the morning is jump into it. It really helps me wake up in the morning.

If you sleep for more than an hour and any less than what you need you will always feel groggy. No way to get around that.

If you feel tired or groggy after a nap it is more than likely that you slept too long. :) A nap should always be a short rest to stop your body going into too deep a sleep.

Naps **** up your whole day. I used to take them after school but I never take them anymore. I always fight to say awake if I am tired during the day.

What a coincidence, as I just woke up from a nap. :) Excersise or a small snack usually does it for me.

Don't have naps longer than 45 minutes because you enter deep sleep = feel like crap after waking up

This is why I don't nap. That said, try to nap for at least 90 min if you're going to do it. If you sleep in blocks of 90 minutes, it feels less awful when you wake up. Or at least, that's how it should work.

I always set the alarm in the back room. It takes me a few minutes to hear it, then get to it, by that time I'm pretty much awake.

Naps do nothing for me and I always feel groggy when I wake up. My wife is able to fall asleep almost on command and will wake up a half hour later from her nap feeling completely recharged. I envy her.

cold water. whether you ingest it or wash yourself with it, it's a good jolt to wake you up.
