Wouldn't you at least try it if someone offered you just 10 bucks? Seeing the weird stuff the guy eats on Man vs. Wild, what it so wierd sounding about eating dog? Or is it just "inhumane" because dogs are pets and we can't picture someone eating one? I would go for it. :ocamreeno360
of course i would but i am vietnamese and i think that that is one of the foods that we eat ..so yaa

Because as much as they might annoy us for being animals, dogs are mankind's best friends. When the human race crawled out of the bushes, dogs were the first animals to befriend us. Even if they cannot understand many simple human gestures of human kindness, we at least owe it to this species of canine to not treat them like crap or eat them for monetary advantage or when other food is available.
Edit: I apologize if this was too sappy for OT...>_>
I believe it's that way because society has deemed dog as "Man's best friend" due to their loyalty to their owner and things like that. Even though my dog wasn't very loyal to me.. >_>Mystic_LegendYou know, I don't know what it is but I'm seeing this >_> face ALL THE TIME now. I think it's following me or something. Sheesh.
My dogs are like family to me, I mean, even if you knew that you had a baby that would die at 2 years old, would you still love it? Probably, even though it'll never get the intellect of an adult, just like a dog, so no, not for a billion dollars.wemhim
No one is suggesting that you eat YOUR dog. I just think that you should try eating SOMEONE ELSE'S dog.
If it's not your dog, then it's not really family, and there's no reason not to eat it.

That's a load of crap. Do you have any idea how many times i;ve seen dogs try to KILL PEOPLE just for walking down the street?
Seriously, how many times have you been walking down the street minding youjr own business and being suddenly and unexpectedly attacked by a spider or a squireel?
Spiders don't do that crap. Snakles don't do that crap. Squirreels don't do that kind of crap.
But dogs DO. Dogs (PET dogs) KILL children just for walking to school.
So don't you DARE try to tell me that dogs are "man's best friend". I can "befriend" a Komodo Dragon if I put enough effort into it, but that doesn't make them a species that you want to take lightly.

You realize that the dogs that are like that are probably not taken care of right. People are abusive, etc. My neighbor has a few of those big mean dogs. They're nice dogs cause he knows the right way to take care of them. That's not to say they won't hurt anyone cause alas they're still beasts.
And for the record, I've observed the same thing. There used to people that would leave their big dog in the front yard. You pass by and it starts barking and chasing after you. I had my sweat pantsleg ripped because it tried to bite me many times. Of course I was running away and screaming like a little girl:|
I wouldnt, personally, it feels/sounds weird eating dogs...to me they're domestic animals...AznsilvrboyBut....the cows...Care? :o

Dogs-taken-care-of-right=wolves.
Dogs are NOT inherently friendly to people. They are social animals that can potentially be enslaved and domesticated, yes. But the only reason that PET dogs are friendly to people is because they were enslaved by a hostile species. They were taken from their families and forced into selective breeding programs for thousands of years until we finally end up with this...
And don't you DARE try to tell me that that's "right".
guess cause Ive been raised in a western society it just seems weird to me..... My family doesnt own a dog either btw.
Yeah i definitely think its to do with how your raised take france and britain. Both westernt civilizations... in france they eat horse meat and snails so it is accepted. In britain we generally dont eat horse meat and definitely not snails as a result we all go "ewwww" when someone says the frenche eat horses or snails....
But you guys eat pidgeon stew and wild hare right? (saw that on the Travel Channel haha)guess cause Ive been raised in a western society it just seems weird to me..... My family doesnt own a dog either btw.

umm no we dont eat pidgeon stew( i speak for the overwhelming majority of Britain) we call them rats with wings... and no we definitely dont eat them.... as for wild hare, if you mean the ones like rabits then yeah I think we in britain eat that but its no way near as common as things like chicken or turkey.

instead of putting the dogs to sleep we could just butcher them and sell it cheap to poor people. I would try it too.
And don't you DARE try to tell me that that's "right".

nope that is just plain wrong... And I would not eat that whatever the hell it is..... ewwwww

You state dog=pet and dog=/=food because western culture learned us this, if you were learned dog=food you wouldn't see nothing weird and wrong about eating dog food.
I would eat dog's food, just an animal anyway.
Besides i've heard on example pig can be as good pet as dog, or even better, because their IQ is higher, and pigs can be even more human's best frend, but we almost all eat pork, because our culutre says it's ok, it's all aboute culture "metnal" enviroment i suppose...
